Mitsubishi Power is on a mission to reach net zero carbon emissions across the power sector, deploy clean energy infrastructure, and advance human prosperity. To support this ambitious mission, the marketing communications team is adding a Senior Content Strategist to its growing team. The ideal candidate will be a gifted storyteller who identifies opportunities, develops strategy, and manages the execution across all channels to position Mitsubishi Power as a leader in the Power industry. This role will focus on external communications, creating content for stakeholders including media, investors, and customers. As well as being a gifted writer. The candidate will have a strong understanding of media, social media, and content development for various channels to reach our target audience, including news releases, blogs, videos, bylines, or something else. He/she will be able to proactively identify newsworthy topics across the business and knows how to best present a story to create interest in media which will help increase Mitsubishi Power’s share of voice. 

Reporting Relationship: This position reports to the Senior Director of Marketing Communications.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities 

The role requires the ability to create and execute an editorial calendar that responds to changing market circumstances and business needs – to help drive Mitsubishi Power’s brand story.

  • Develop and execute the content strategy and editorial calendar to support Mitsubishi Power’s strategic goals and strengthen the company’s brand and visibility in key markets and across stakeholder groups
  • Lead the development of storytelling opportunities and news items within the company and ensure a continuous pipeline of content. Identify opportunities in the news cycle and create content ensuring Mitsubishi Power is part of the conversations to reach business goals.
  • Accountable for owned and earned media processes including brief development, content writing, and distribution. Extending the life of the announcement through the creation of additional supporting content such as media pitches, case studies, featured articles, trend stories, and media summaries to continuously generate positive publicity and enhance the reputation of Mitsubishi Power Americas.
  • Collaborate with agencies and freelancers to continuously build relationships with new media contacts and maintain relationships with existing contacts
  • Identify and manage press conferences, press trips, interviews, and other media and event appearances for Mitsubishi Power. Including preparing key leaders for press interviews.
  • Track, evaluate, and report results of PR efforts to inform future campaigns including evaluation of public opinion through surveys, polls, and social media listening

Knowledge, Skills, & Education

Education and/or Experience: 

  • Bachelor's degree in communications, journalism, public relations, marketing, or a related field
  • 6-10 years of experience in public relations or corporate communications
  • Experience with project management systems (ClickUp)
  • Marketing Automation Experience (Hubspot)
  • Demonstrated ability to prioritize tasks and manage time effectively
  • Strong working knowledge of a variety of public relations programs
  • Proven ability to develop, implement, and execute successful public relations campaigns
