Job description

Our client, a leading online marketplace for traveling experiences, is hiring for a Technical Writer to join their Engineering Team remotely working out of their San Francisco, CA office.

The Technical Writer will be supporting the Engineering and Product Teams to develop and write operational, instructional and test procedures content (e.g. paper, multimedia and web-based publications). This will include conducting interviews with internal staff, researching and translating technical information into manuals, and managing the internal wiki for up-to-date content. The ideal candidate will have 3+ years of experience technical writing, hands-on experience with Lucidchart, and an intermediate proficiency of markup/HTML and developing webpage content.

*This is a 4-month contract to start with a possibility for extension/direct hire*

*This role is 100% remote supporting PST hours*

Key Responsibilities:

  • Creates, develops, plans, writes and edits operational, instructional, maintenance or test procedures for paper, multimedia or web-based publication
  • Conduct interviews with various users and technical staff to gather data for documentation
  • Research and translate technical information into manuals or web-based documents for non-technical/technical users
  • Document engineering processes and specifications
  • Recommend formats responsive to technical and customer requirements
  • Produce products that align to company documentation and QA standards
  • Support knowledge sharing by creating documents including runbooks, policy documents, process documents, reports, training guides and how-to guides
  • Audit and manage internal wiki to keep content relevant and to assist teams in managing the content they own for review and accuracy
  • Maintain technical documentation for internal teams including training manuals and other technical processes, policies, or procedures

Required Skills and Experience:

  • 3+ years in a technical writing creating and maintaining runbooks, procedures, policy documents
  • Experience with Lucidchart for process flow diagrams integrated into Confluence
  • Intermediate knowledge of markup/HTML and developing webpage content
  • Proficiency in writing clearly and effectively about technical topics in language accessible to our support teams

Salary range USD $52+ hourly
