Job description

The Digital Content Coordinator supports and implements our organizational-wide digital strategy through the creation of visual content, including short-form video, graphics, and images, that ultimately bolster the mission, vision, and brand for NASSP and our four student programs: National Honor Society (NHS), National Junior Honor Society (NJHS), National Elementary Honor Society (NEHS) and National Student Council (NatStuCo). Specifically, this position will support the digital team’s strategic goals which include transforming NASSP’s online presence by elevating and amplifying the voices of school and student leaders through the creation of engaging visual content.

The ideal candidate is a creative, results-driven, digital aficionado who enjoys working in a highly collaborative environment to support and implement innovative and purposeful strategies that will engage and expand our membership base and digital footprint. This person is excited about working to transform education through school and student leadership and keenly understands the potential impact social media has to be a critical lever for change in our broader movement.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Visual content creation. Collaborate with fellow staff, educators, and students to film, edit, and create short-form video content, including reels, YouTube, live video and more. Create graphics and images that engage our digital audiences and support our strategic goals.
  • Online community management. Assist fellow members of the Digital Team to spark and moderate online conversations, handle member services via our social channels, and grow NASSP’s digital footprint.
  • Writing. Draft social media posts for NASSP’s channels with a specific focus on elevating the voices and experiences of students and school leaders. Write email copy to engage members, drive action, and support the organization’s strategic initiatives and goals.
  • Listening. Actively listen to our digital audience and the larger education online community, taking note of current events and issues that should inform how NASSP best engages in the conversation and with our members.
  • Maintaining NASSP’s Brand Promise. Collaborate with multiple teams across the organization to ensure and maintain NASSP’s brand promise. Ensure that all online content is aligned with NASSP’s mission, vision, and values and supports the organization’s strategic initiatives and goals.
  • Analytics and Reporting. Work with fellow team members to track analytics for NASSP’s online presence, including social, email, and web. Provide timely reports to stakeholders with key performance indicators (KPI), analysis, and data-driven recommendations for improving the health of the program and meeting strategic goals.
  • Digital Strategy Support. Research and recommend new digital strategies and trends and leverage them in the day-to-day execution of our digital strategy to improve key performance indicators (KPI) and further elevate the voices of student and school leaders.

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND EXPERIENCE

  • 2-5 years of experience with B2C social media marketing or content development.
  • 2-5 years of experience filming, editing, and optimizing short-form videos for social media.
  • 2-5 years of experience using professional video and photo editing tools.
  • Excellent social listening skills.
  • Ability to understand trends in the digital content and social media space.
  • Exceptional copywriting and copy-editing skills.
  • Ability to compile and analyze data for planning and reporting purposes.
  • Ability to prioritize, multitask, and follow through effectively.
  • Creative thinker with a solutions-oriented approach.
