Web Content Specialist

Job description

Works closely with the marketing and communications teams to carefully craft and personalize content on NSC web properties. Ensures NSC web content is clearly targeted toward various audiences and raises awareness of NSC initiatives. Assist in migration of satellite NSC web properties to nsc.org.

Web Content Management 50%

  • Update, maintain and optimize content on nsc.org
  • Create new landing pages on nsc.org
  • Partner with the marketing team and senior manager of web content to offer personalized experience to various audiences
  • Work with the marketing team on search engine optimization, including updating/adding metadata on all nsc.org pages
  • Work to identify and develop a schedule to keep content fresh and updated
  • Interface with web content producers, editors, subject matter experts and business units to execute content strategy
  • Work with the digital marketing team on marketing initiatives, strategies and campaigns
  • Craft and personalize calls to action for conversion and cross-promotion purposes
  • Maintain consistent voice and tone across the website

Web Content Migration 25%

  • Assist in the migration of NSC satellite web properties to nsc.org, as needed

Marketing Coordination 20%

  • Work with the NSC Marketing Department to support key safety observances (National Safety Month, Distracted Driving Awareness Month, NSC Congress & Expo, etc.)
  • Manage web-based marketing projects
  • Maintain project timelines and ensure projects are completed on time

Other duties 5%

  • Responsible for safety as outlined in the Safety Manual; follows safety policies and practices specific to job/position and level
  • Remain up to date on safety issues and trends
  • Maintain general knowledge of research findings, data, effective prevention strategies and behavioral and cultural changes pertaining to leading causes of preventable injuries and death


  • Bachelors degree in journalism, communications or public relations, or the equivalent
  • Minimum 4 years of experience writing, editing and managing projects
  • Proficient in HTML
  • Proficient in web CMS
  • Experience in web content management, personalization and migration
  • Proficient in MS Office
  • Knowledge of Kentico CMS a plus
  • Understanding of Salesforce suite of products
