Reporting to the Content Marketing Manager, the Content Marketing Specialist is responsible for initiating and developing content for all stages of the buyer journey. In this role, you will develop strategic content ideas, write content, manage other writers, and see through the design and publishing process, and create social posts. 

The primary objective of the content you develop will be to establish credibility, generate interest, and drive new customer acquisition. Content will be written primarily for a public safety (law enforcement, fire and ems, 911 centers, etc.) and public sector HR audience looking to solve challenges that our products address. 

The right person for this role will be a strategic thinker and phenomenal writer with the ability to develop persuasive headlines and copy for sales collateral, emails, videos, our websites, and case studies. A willingness to collaborate and learn from other individuals at all levels across the organization, from entry to executive level is a must. 

What You Will do

  • Collaborate on the content strategy and develop recommendations for campaign themes/topics based on marketing goals and objectives
  • Manage the content calendar, taking responsibility for managing and meeting deadlines for all assigned content from development to completion and publishing of creative assets, working closely with designers and marketing ops team.
  • Partner with internal SMEs to turn complex ideas and technical information into lead- and revenue-generating content
  • Write whitepapers, case studies, research reports, ebooks, blog posts, landing pages, emails, social posts, website copy, and more
  • Conduct research to learn about the competitive landscape, understand industry trends, and marketing content trends and leverage learnings to try new approaches and innovations
  • Build decks for webinars, sales, and thought leadership presentations
  • Write phone scripts and elevator pitches for sales development representatives
  • Write sales collateral such as brochures, feature sheets, and data sheets
  • Partner with internal SMEs to turn complex ideas and technical information into lead- and revenue-generating content
  • Proofread content to ensure narrative consistency, voice and tone appropriateness, and accuracy
  • Execute SEO strategies as directed by Content Marketing Manager.
  • Manage contracted writers on production of SEO articles, including providing briefs, direction, and ensuring deadlines are met
  • Build decks for webinars, sales, and thought leadership presentations
  • Interview customers and work with internal stakeholders to develop buyer personas for all products
  • Review data to develop content learnings and best practices, and to optimize performance.
  • Oversee social media strategy and execution for¬†all brands and social media sites including LinkedIn, Twitter, Facebook, and Instagram
  • Meet regularly with Project Manager to ensure deadlines for all deliverables are met
  • Assist with other marketing projects when needed.

Who You Are

  • Strong work ethic and a natural sense of urgency when it comes to getting projects done

  • Organized and detail-oriented
  • Tech-savvy and comfortable learning new technology to optimize processes and improve campaign results.
  • Works well under pressure, can balance multiple priorities while retaining an upbeat and optimistic attitude
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience writing content for demand generation with demonstrated ability to turn technical subject matter into effective content.
  • Portfolio that showcases a mix of long and short-form content - please¬†include a link to your portfolio in your resume
  • Knowledge of SEO best practices required.¬†
  • Experience with Hubspot (or other marketing automation software) and Salesforce required
  • Proficient in Microsoft Applications, including Powerpoint and Excel
  • Experience at a B2B SaaS company highly preferred
  • Experience using Asana a plus
