Customer-focused? User-centric? Strategic Thinker?

If that sounds like you, we have the perfect opportunity for you here at IRIS. We’re currently searching for a collaborative and creative Content Designer to join our Accountancy team, enhancing the user experience of our popular KashFlow suite.

Job Summary

Our Content Designers work on the end-to-end customer journey of a task or job that our accountancy users complete. You know about Agile methodology and can apply an agile mindset to all aspects of your work. You thrive in a fast-paced environment and are comfortable with taking some risks to enable rapid delivery.

You’ll be creating, updating and reviewing content around the user journey. You’ll be adept at using evidence (data) and research to inform decisions and change things for the better. You’ll have experience of UX writing and will be skilled in creating content that users see or hear in a user interface.

As an integral member of the KashFlow team, you’ll also be instrumental in shaping customer engagements so experience with digital adoption platforms would be awesome (but not essential). If you have a passion for customer-centricity, and you’re comfortable using market insights to inform decisions and content, then we want to hear from you!

This role requires excellent writing and editing skills, the ability to communicate effectively, and work collaboratively with stakeholders. You’ll work autonomously and know how to create effective content for digital channels, bringing innovation and fresh ideas to content delivery.

For this role, the successful candidate will:

  • Create, improve, and manage user-centred content using analytics, user feedback, and user research
  • Use tools such as user stories, job stories, user journey mapping, and jobs to be done, to truly understand the end-to-end user journey
  • Make sure that appropriate content is served to the user in the right place (within the customer journey) and in the best format
  • Be able to explain content decisions
  • Build relationships across IRIS to focus on the needs of the user and to influence stakeholders
  • Design content to meet the users’ needs, making complex financial, regulatory language and processes easy to understand and follow
  • Understand and implement content style and standards, which align with the messaging framework
  • Contribute to the architecture of the content, based on user-centred design principles
  • Research, gather, and analyse product information, translating it into a format suitable for our customers
  • Be a design team representative and a main point of contact for product team members on developing a user-centred approach
  • Work closely with stakeholders and team members to ensure our content is evidence-based, user-centred, and continually optimised
  • Be a customer advocate, considering every aspect of the product experience from the customer perspective

Daily tasks may include

  •  Discussing authoring requirements with colleagues and the related technology
  • Determining the organisation and presentation of the documentation
  • Creating illustrations and examples as required
  • Creating clear and concise documentation that can be easily understood by the target audience
  • Editing and proofreading documentation, including from other departments
  • Testing user documentation with internal stakeholders and our customers

We're looking for a Content Designer with the following skills/experience:

  • Experience of writing inclusive and accessible content across digital channels
  • Experience of contributing to a thriving customer community
  • Experience of conversational design for interactions with digital systems
  • Familiarity with accountancy or financial software
  • Excellent editorial standards
