We are seeking a creative, performance-based mindset leader with a proven history of turning vision into reality to serve as Director of Content Marketing for neilpatel.com and the Neil Patel brands.   

As the Director of Content Marketing, you will oversee the production of compelling, data-driven content strategies that supports NP’s thought leadership, drives lead generation, improves traffic, and creates brand awareness as well as customer retention. 

Our ideal candidate excels at marketing strategy and implementation, project management, creating processes, analyzing and solving complex problems, and leading a team in a fast-paced, dynamic atmosphere. Our website generates over 5M visitors per month, so you will collaborate closely with senior leadership, production teams, vendors and others to enact strategies that enhance value for our brands. 

Responsibilities/Qualifications/Essential job Functions  

  • Develop, optimize and manage content strategy to help accelerate the development of thought leadership across all Neil Patel brands 
  • Collaborate closely with a diverse set of internal and external teams to help create original and creative content that receives high engagement and helps drive lead generation 
  • Write and edit compelling, research-based and high-performing content materials that engage our audiences through resonance and relevance  
  • Identify new opportunities through leveraging data and testing of content assets (not limited to blogs, white papers, infographics, video scripts, ads, etc) 
  • Translate data into actionable insights and thought leadership that will engage our targeted audiences 
  • Ensure accuracy and timeliness of content in marketing communications through rigorous quality control, proofing, and data checking 
  • Stay current on industry best practices and monitor activities of competitor websites 
  • Oversee administrative functions, ensuring smooth daily content operations including hiring, training and developing a staff  

Requirements & Preferred Qualifications 

  • 5-7 years experience with leading marketing/content campaigns in the digital marketing and/or technology industry in a high-paced, rapid growth environment 
  • Creative and entrepreneurial thinker with strong vision and strategic mindset
  • Excellent written, verbal, and visual skills, with an ability to personally create high-quality messaging and content 
  • Demonstrated ability to lead a team of content writers and internal content production/promotion roles 
  • Develop, establish, and direct the execution of operating policies to support overall department objectives 
  • Passion for analytics and working with data-driven strategies  
  • Ability to translate business challenges into content solutions 
  • Self-motivated, self-starter, able to independently execute with minimal supervision in a fast-paced agency environment with rapidly changing priorities 
  • A strong understanding of SEO best practices and overall digital marketing operations 
  • Bachelor’s degree, with an emphasis on marketing, journalism or similar preferred
