Onsite in Carlsbad, CA (potential for some remote work in a hybrid setting)
12+ month contract
The Technical Editor will be responsible for editing scientific marketing material that includes technical/application notes, abstracts, posters, presentations, articles, product brochures, white papers and other types of content. The editor will ensure the proper use of grammar and terminology, clarity, consistency, branding, and adherence to the corporate writing style guidelines. They will also review the use of trademarks and the language used in product claims.
Responsibilities:
Edit scientific marketing content for grammar, clarity and corporate writing style
Enforce brand and trademark usage guidelines
Review the appropriateness of the language used in product claims
Provide markups and review comments within a marketing content management system
Initiates and supports manufacturing documents updates.
Authors and revises change controls or other technical documentation.
Tracks and trends relevant documentation and data as specified.
Maintains a GLP/cGMP environment and follows SOPs.
Adjusts responsibilities and activities to meet internal expectations.
Provides support to manufacturing/sustainment as needed.
Become familiar with new equipment and or manufacturing processes to create and maintain accurate documentation.
Additional responsibilities related to manufacturing process troubleshooting or equipment or process qualifications may be assigned.
Must Haves:
BS Degree in English, communications, or a scientific field
3+ years of editing experience
Experience in the life sciences industry
Job Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in English, communications, or a scientific field is required.
0-3 years of relevant experience in manufacturing in cGMP environment, preferably as a Technical Writer Familiarity with relevant technical documentation (SOPs, preventative actions, deviations, etc.) preferred.
Excellent written communication skills
Able to edit quickly and consistently against a style guide
Able to recognize and preserve technical terms and language
Experience editing scientific discussions of laboratory or clinical data
Detail-oriented with strong English writing skills is preferred.
Strong verbal communication skills.
Ability to work independently, within prescribed guidelines, or as a team member.
Highly proficient with Microsoft Office applications.
