Job description

Phreesia has experienced tremendous growth as a leader in revolutionizing the point-of-care space. We create content for patients who are in a “healthcare state of mind” — right before they see their doctor. 

Our Content Strategy group continues to expand and we’re looking for the right person to join an Operations team who are committed to bringing innovation and clarity to the healthcare industry.

The Senior Content Editor will be the first editorial hire to the Operations team and will work with their Director to shape the editorial process + staffing for the department. The Senior Content Editor will work with teams to set up and maintain editorial quality control of campaigns during all stages of production. The candidate must be motivated, proactive and solution-oriented. Excellent editorial skills are necessary, along with a dedication to helping establish thorough and efficient editorial processes. 

What You'll Do:

  • Lead editor for all Phreesia campaigns, consisting of different brands and disease states
  • Edit and proofread a variety of promotional and educational materials from manuscript through digital programming
  • Work closely with Account, Creative/Design, Operations, and other team members to ensure that campaigns are of the highest quality in terms of accuracy, clarity, and readability
  • Work with Digital Producers on timing and quality control including copyediting, styling, proofreading
  • Work closely with writers on content and referencing
  • Create and maintain brand style guides
  • Complete ad-hoc editorial reads on other external-facing client communications as needed, including webinar materials and Phreesia Life Science promotional content
  • Work with manager to shape the editorial process for Phreesia Life Sciences and contribute to the growth of the Content Strategy team

What You'll Bring:

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • Five years’ copyediting experience in a pharmaceutical advertising, in-house agency, or medical publishing company preferred. Open to considering candidates with copyediting experience in other fields
  • Working knowledge of AMA Manual of Style, 10th edition required
  • Articulate oral and written communication skills essential
  • Exceptional working knowledge of English grammar and usage
  • Experience using Adobe Acrobat or similar PDF editor applications to copyedit is a plus
  • Creative approach to problem solving and ability to prioritize projects based on deadlines
  • Ability to understand and clarify complex medical concepts
  • Curiosity/interest in medical topics essential
  • Avid reader and learner
  • Organization and attention to detail essential
  • Idea-focused, rather than just execution
  • Maintain editorial style (AMA, manufacturer brand style) and edit for consistency
