We are looking for a full-time content strategist to join our team. If this sounds like a position you would be interested in, please read the job description below.

Responsibilities

A Content Strategist is a writer who gets people – not just the client, but the user as well. You’re a highly empathetic wordsmith with an innate understanding of what people want and how to reach them. You’re an outgoing introvert (which some people call an ambivert): you’re happy to work alone, but you absolutely sparkle when you’re with people.

As a Content Strategist, you’ll bridge the gap between the client’s vision and the production writers’ skills. You’ll work with other stakeholders, including (but not limited to) Marketing Directors, the Content Strategy Manager, and the client themselves, to uncover the client’s unique tone and voice. Then, you’ll set the standards for other writers to follow in the future.

To put it simply, your job is to ensure all content creators understand how best to represent the client through the written word. 

Primary responsibilities include being involved in strategy discussions regarding content (both internal and client-facing meetings), overseeing the training of copywriters (as needed), producing content (as needed), writing and laying out compelling web copy, and supporting company or department initiatives (as outlined by the Manager of Content Strategy).

Secondary responsibilities may include reviewing content produced by the copy production team for strategic and editorial quality, and providing feedback to the copy production team.

Required Experience & Skills

Must-Have:

  • Legally able to work in Canada
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • 3+ years experience writing for a variety of platforms
  • Strong writing and overall communication skills

Nice to Have:

  • Ghostwriting experience
  • Brand development experience
  • Client-facing skills
  • Understanding of user intent and user experience
  • Working knowledge of SEO best practices
  • Experience teaching or coaching writers
  • Experience writing ad copy

Compensation

  • $54,000-$59,000 annually based on experience and qualifications
  • Full health and dental benefit package
