Job description

About the Office and the Team

At Quickbase, we believe that exceptional employees, treated well, are the key to our success. Our teams are small, nimble, and highly empowered to drive product excellence. Each team has its own commitments and outcomes. They savor the surprises and learn fast so that they can be better tomorrow than they are today.

Why Should You Join the Quickbase UX Content Team?

  1. Our product has a twenty-year history, and our customers love it! Writing for a platform that so many are passionate about is exciting and empowering. With so many features, Quickbase offers endless opportunities to improve our user experience, so there’s never a dull moment for our designers.
  2. We collaborate, not just with each other, but with developers and product managers who understand why user-centered design matters. We can resolve debates by mining our own analytics. Most importantly, we can make informed decisions by talking with customers—whose use cases are often surprising.
  3. We learn and grow, by tackling complex problems together. You will be asked to dig deep in your UX toolkit while keeping in mind different users, and endless use cases, to create clean and modern interfaces. The UX group is a fun community that shares experiences and advice. All designers' voices are heard, and all content designers have opportunities to make a huge impact on our product’s success.
  4. The low/no-code space is growing fast and our UX team is at the heart of it!

The Impact of this Role

Day-to-day, you will work across multiple scrum teams to understand business needs and product requirements to create in-product guidance, UX copy, and online help, as well as contribute to release notes. You will also help us build out content guidelines in our design system.

If you’re passionate about using words to help users understand, adopt, and enjoy software products, we’d love to talk with you!

Qualifications

  • You have 5+ years of experience in delivering content designs for products; preferably experience with Platform-as-a-Service (PaaS) or Software-as-a-Service (SaaS)
  • You have a diverse online portfolio showcasing writing for complex, large-scale products with an emphasis on simplicity and clarity
  • You can assess, prioritize, and make trade-offs against business, technical, and user constraints
  • Ability to make complicated topics clear and understandable
  • A love for user content and UX (both long-form content and microcopy) and a curiosity for exploring technical products and their users
  • You have experience with content management systems or help authoring tools
  • Experience creating walkthroughs or guides in products -- our team uses Pendo
