As a company, we constantly challenge what’s possible, never simply accepting what has always been done. We reframe old problems, seek new solutions and operate comfortably in areas that are unknown. Our backgrounds are diverse, but our team shares a love of the outdoors and a desire to protect it for future generations.

Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with engineers to define knowledgebase content for vehicle trouble codes
  • Act as librarian for the diagnostic content rules and the structure model, including the reasoning behind those decisions.
  • Edit diagnostic solutions provided by engineering and service to ensure it meets the standards of the system.
  • Manage project priorities with Service and Engineering teams, and interface between engineering and field technicians to solve field issues while documenting solutions.
  • Drive review, approval, and editing for clarity and grammar of the theory of operations documentation.
  • Create eLearning storyboards for new users of the diagnostic tool.
  • Develop step-by-step guides for different users of the database to ensure users understand how to use the tools using best practices.
  • Work in such a way as to facilitate localization and accessibility.
  • Convey complex interdependencies to engineers and leadership through presentations and other communications materials.
  • Strategize and implement process improvements for documentation processes.
  • Provide mentorship to technical writing interns for the diagnostic tool.
  • Uphold and foster a positive work environment and a culture of collaboration in each Rivian facility in which you work as well as any 3rd party support you may provide.

Requirements:

  • Automobile and Technology industry experience preferred.
  • Experience working in software development, IT, or UNIX documentation.
  • Experience working in hardware documentation.
  • BA degree in English, Technical Writing, or related field.
  • Computer skills proficiency and excellent written and spoken communication skills.
  • Proven expertise in data analysis and critical thinking.
  • Track record of working closely with cross-functional teams and stakeholders in a technology environment.
  • Process design experience, with the ability to understand, document, and transform complex processes.
  • Strong analytical and structured problem-solving capabilities with high-level analytical ability where opportunities for improvement are unusual and complex.
  • Appropriate interpersonal styles and communication methods to work effectively with internal and external partners.
  • Extremely detail-oriented
  • Proven ability to manage multiple workflows to ensure deadlines are met.
