Salesforce Content & Communications Experience (CCX) team creates customer-facing content to help Salesforce users achieve their business goals. We are looking for a lead strategist who can determine the vision, roadmap, and structure of content strategy for CCX and help our team create intuitive and helpful experiences for those using Salesforce products. The ideal candidate is an expert content designer as well as operational leader who can grow the content strategy program’s reach and influence.

Desired Experience

  • 5+ years experience creating product-related content and/or content design
  • Experience creating successful customer-facing content experiences
  • Demonstrated leadership in using content strategy principles to plan and deliver content
  • Skilled in using a variety of content types to reach a variety of learning styles
  • Expert at using data, user research, and industry trends to inform content decisions
  • Demonstrated leadership in presenting content design and strategy principles to multiple stakeholders and persuading them to adopt new ideas

Key Responsibilities

Program Leadership

The Lead Content Strategist oversees the growth and health of CCX’s content strategy program.

  • Lead planning (including long-range planning) for the content strategy program - adoption, onboarding, measurement, and roadmap
  • Improve the impact and effectiveness of our content through user research studies, benchmark analysis, data collection, and competitive research
  • Use knowledge of learning styles to help teams deliver a variety of content types to reach multiple audiences
  • Lead change management and get commitment from CCX leadership on content strategy objectives
  • Track Content Strategist coverage by cloud, team, and allocation
  • Communicate coverage goals/ratios and work with managers to grow Content Strategist allocations
  • Create a coverage model based on requirements and best practices
  • Collect Content Strategist success stories and share out in newsletters and other comms
  • Create, update, and manage self-serve training resources for content strategy

Influence, Evangelism, Thought Leadership

The Chief Content Strategist is CCX’s chief evangelist for our brand of content strategy. They stay on top of industry trends and are a thought leader in the content strategy space.

  • Evangelize for teams, clouds, and departments to adopt CCX’s content strategy standards.
  • Inspire others by sharing insights, industry best practices, and success stories.
  • Guide individual team-level content strategists on auditing their cloud’s content, identifying gaps, and making strategic decisions on what content they’ll produce.
  • Take the lead on developing a content strategy for critical projects as needed.

Hands-On Expertise and Guidance

The Chief Content Strategist is a hands-on expert in content strategy practices.

  • Work with teams to identify customer needs and use cases and adapt product documentation to meet those needs
  • Help translate the technology into a customer-focused value statement (what problem are we solving? how does this technology help customers achieve their goals?)
  • Train new content strategists through workshops, customer analysis, and JTBD
  • Formalize templates and tools for practicing content strategy at the pod/team level (ex: content audit, data analysis, impact assessments)
  • Collaborate closely with leaders on in-app, strategy, onboarding, and other related areas
  • Review content strategy assets from product content strategists and provide guidance
