What You’ll Do

The Content Strategist will help in driving our brand’s editorial storytelling as well as taking our digital strategy to the next level. We are seeking an experienced individual with proven success in creating innovative and engaging content, expanding a brand’s presence, and creatively driving user-centric digital experiences. Reporting to the Sr. Director of Content Marketing, you will help lead end-to-end content creation for our blog, website, email newsletters, digital ads, and other editorial platforms. This role is critical to ensure content is driving growth.

They are constantly learning, reading, and exploring to unlock bold thinking and develop fresh takes on the world. The role will support the company through creative storytelling, copywriting, content creation, editorial planning, and cross-functional collaboration. They will be responsible for building brand awareness, driving engagement, and building community across all digital and social channels. 

Key Responsibilities

Content Creation

  • Build and execute a content strategy that attracts, engages, and activates our target audience. They are digitally savvy and love engaging in meaningful conversations
  • Concept storytelling within the brand aesthetic
  • Understand our audience, what resonates with them, and how to distill complex ideas into creative and compelling content
  • Thinks outside of the box to actively seeks opportunities and propose solutions
  • Develop and maintain a content calendar to advance the company's cross-functional digital presence
  • Help build compelling digital and social media marketing campaigns that align with product launches, seasonal moments, or larger initiatives
  • Write, edit, publish, and share high-quality and engaging branded content that builds meaningful connections and encourages members to take action 
  • Aid in guaranteeing the consistent use of brand identity and messaging across the company by ensuring campaigns stay on brand
  • Identify real-time digital and cultural trends to inform social media strategy and community building

Insights & Reporting

  • Continuously refine digital marketing strategy by capturing and analyzing the appropriate social data/metrics, insights, and best practices, and then acting on the information
  • Identify customer and competitor insights to distill Shipt’s strategy to help define our go-forward path on key initiatives
  • Prepare regular progress reports measuring social media channel and creative campaign performance
  • Leverage internal data, partner insights, current trends, and the competitive landscape to make data-based recommendations 
  • Collaborate with analytics to continuously assess and optimize marketing spend against key metrics to ensure profitable growth of the channel
  • Provide monthly, quarterly and campaign-based metrics reporting

  • Consistently analyze internal processes to make workflow more efficient and progressive
  • Support preparation of internal and external Executive partnership communications and presentations
  • Leverage SEO best practices to inform content and editorial strategy

Cross-Functional Partnership

  • Assist in all cross-functional efforts to repurpose content across multiple marketing channels - including working with video editors, email strategists, organic social, digital marketing, and offline partners
  • Liaise between growth marketing, integrated marketing, content marketing, communications, and product teams to develop creative concepts for evergreen and seasonal campaigns 
  • Oversee and continuously evolve content initiatives to maximize effectiveness for new TOF campaigns & ongoing evergreen content for both earned & paid efforts
  • Work cross-functionally with internal teams to support all relevant initiatives, partnership requests & content needs
  • Manage additional duties as needed


  • 5+ years Marketing, Social Media, Content Creation, or Digital required
  • Excellent written & verbal communication skills
  • Work experience at a brand, design, advertising, or digital agency or at a technology company doing product development and original content creation preferred
  • Power user of various CMS platforms with a strong POV about how they should be managed
  • Strong strategic thinker with experience synthesizing information to generate actionable insights
  • Ability to create on-brand, inspirational content
  • Demonstrated systems thinking and design experience and customer journey
  • Familiarity with design research or behavioral science principles
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively navigate ambiguity
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills 
  • Strong organization and presentation skills 
  • Ability to facilitate and clarify project expectations, objectives and deliverables
  • Ability to direct multiple projects in a fast-paced environment 
  • Proficiency with Google Suite (esp Google Slides and Google Sheets)
