Shoptalk is looking for a Manager, Content, with 3-5 years of experience in market research, consulting, business journalism, conference planning or a similar discipline to help build our conference agendas, identify speakers from a broad cross-section of global retail and e-commerce organizations, support our Original Content efforts, and contribute to the execution of our virtual meetings programs. This person will join a high-profile team reporting into the SVP, Content.
As Manager, Content, you will be responsible for:
Researching, analyzing, and determining the topics to cover on our agendas and in our Original Content, to help ensure that Shoptalk and Groceryshop remain at the forefront of thought leadership for the retail & e-commerce industries
Helping to identify and recruit hundreds of senior-level speakers from large brands and retailers, venture-backed startups, tech companies, investors, consulting firms and more for Shoptalk and Groceryshop (our grocery- and CPG-focused event)
Writing in-depth session descriptions
Joining calls with all speakers and moderators to shape the conversation that will take place at each event
Contributing to content initiatives related to our Retail Meetup virtual meetings program, including defining Tabletalks peer discussion topics, identifying and recruiting experts and Tabletalks peer discussion group leaders, and supporting execution
Working with other teams at Shoptalk including sponsorship, marketing, design, and event logistics to ensure a world-class experience for all event attendees
Skills and Experiences:
To be successful in the role, you will:
Minimum 3 years of work experience
Experience in the retail or e-commerce industry at a brand, retailer, startup, consulting firm, research organization, media outlet, events/conference organization, or other
Extremely strong writing skills and attention to detail
Ability to quickly analyze and distill industry information
Confidence communicating with senior leaders at brands and retailers
Intense curiosity about how retail is changing
Must be self-motivated, willing to take on new tasks, and adept at multitasking in a fast-changing and dynamic environment
Possess strong interpersonal skills, and strong written and verbal communication skills in English
