Shoptalk is looking for an Original Content Director to help lead the strategy, creation and delivery of Original Content projects for Shoptalk, Groceryshop and Shoptalk Europe. This person will join a high-profile team reporting to the SVP, Content.

Key Responsibilities:

As the Original Content Director, you will be:

  • Conducting research into retail and eCommerce trends, technologies and investments
  • Analyzing financial data, investment information, daily retail news, retail case studies and more
  • Collaborating with Shoptalk’s design and video teams to create slide decks, videos and other deliverables that showcase Original Content at our events
  • Delivering presentations on stage and on camera, and interviewing third-party speakers
  • Ideating and creating content marketing materials (newsletters, etc.) to promote Shoptalk, Groceryshop and Shoptalk Europe events by showcasing our thought leadership
  • Collaborating with third-party research companies on joint research projects
  • Pitching in wherever is needed to help create a fantastic experience for speakers and attendees

Skills & Experiences:

To be successful in this role, you must have/be:

  • Minimum 5 years of work experience
  • Background in research, journalism, branded content, marketing/advertising or other areas where storytelling is required
  • Extremely strong writing skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to quickly analyze and distill industry information
  • Experience presenting or speaking in front of large groups
  • Intense curiosity about how retail is changing
  • Must be self-motivated, willing to take on new tasks, and adept at multitasking in a fast-changing and dynamic environment
