We are looking for a talented storyteller able to help us engage with our audience by utilizing a variety of multi-media. This role requires a creative and energetic person that will help guide content creation for our brand including ideation, creation, editing, distribution, measurement, and maintenance.

As a Content Specialist at SMMA, you will be working closely with other members of the Marketing team including writers and designers helping to promote the firm’s stories using written narratives, photography, video, podcasts, and graphics within our digital platforms (website, social media, and email).

Interested candidates must provide examples of past work and/or a portfolio of successful content campaigns. Experience in the real estate industry will be beneficial. You must be comfortable performing background research on relevant industry trends and changes while contributing to our overall digital marketing strategy.

Content Specialist Responsibilities:

  • Meeting with the creative, marketing, and design teams to ideate and define content goals.
  • Researching market trends to ensure that content is relevant and appealing.
  • Developing content strategies to effectively reach the desired target audience.
  • Creating content for a variety of platforms including websites, social media, and email.
  • Ability to utilize a variety of multi-media for content creation including written narratives, video, podcasts, graphics, photography, etc.
  • Proofreading and editing content before publishing.
  • Ensuring that SEO strategies are effectively implemented.
  • Managing content calendar.
  • Coordinating with the marketing, design, and writing teams to ensure the timely delivery of assignments.
  • Tracking consumer and content analytics and generating reports and presentations.
  • Keeping up to date with content trends, consumer preferences, and advancements in technology.

Content Specialist Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in literature, journalism, marketing, communications, or similar.
  • A minimum of three years of experience in content creation, marketing, communications, or similar.
  • A portfolio of published work.
  • Familiarity with content management systems, social management systems, and the HubSpot platform.
  • Good knowledge of content and layout design and editing tools such as found in Adobe Creative Suite
  • Good knowledge of various content platforms such as social media, blogs, and print media.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • A strong strategist that understands the why behind the copy
  • The ability to keep abreast of content and consumer trends and advancements in technology.
