Job Summary:
This role is to provide content design support and maintenance across digital services provided by the Defence Business Services.
This role will primarily support Civilian HR content on a number of platforms, with the aim to improve the employee experience in terms of how employees find, access, search and consume HR policy and DBS procedural knowledge. This includes how they are structured and written to support users to intuitively get their outcome at pace in a policy compliant manner. The post holder will work collaboratively with DBS services and Enquiry Centre teams and with HR Policy owners to create knowledge content that works for the users and defence.
- Work as part of a virtual agile team across organisational boundaries to deliver effective content on web based platforms.
- Working closely with stakeholders to review, change, create and maintain content that meets user needs and is compliant with the GDS Service Manual and design standards.
- Producing copy and content assets that are accurate, timely, high-quality and to style.
- Work with HR and DBS authorities to manage the new content through internal governance approval and trade union engagement.
- Adoption of configured and branded document templates and to introduce Quality Assurance and Employee Experience criteria.
- Use data and user insights to adjust and improve content.
- Participating in content and service design communities, sharing learnings, and findings with wider teams to transfer knowledge and capability.
- Potentially line management and mentoring responsibilities for Junior Content Designers in the team.

- Essential Skills
- Knowledge of all Microsoft Office applications.
- Proven ability to communicate - both written and verbal.
- The ability to work as part of a small agile team, and across multiple teams.
- Highly motivated and resilient.
- Access or a driven desire to learn
- Desirable Skills
- Microsoft SharePoint expertise.
- Contentful (CMS) expertise.
- Analytics expertise: SharePoint and Google Analytics.
- Oracle Digital Assistant: Creation / maintenance of Skills and ability to review customer interactions.
- Solution design and requirements gathering.
- Unit Testing Knowledge.
- Remedy Incident ticket management expertise.
