Stryker's Medical Division is seeking to hire a Staff Technical Writer to support our Emergency Care business. Stryker Emergency Response and Resuscitation

What You Will Do:

As a Staff Technical Writer, you will actively participate in new product development meetings to provide insights on best quality outcomes for instructional material strategies and resolve related challenges.

  • Develop, write, edit and revise product Instructions For Use (IFUs) that provide instructions and information detailing user/patient safety, product features, procedures for handling, maintenance, etc.
  • Organizes IFU content and completes writing assignments according to established guidelines for order, content, clarity, conciseness, format, style, and terminology
  • Conceptualizes graphical elements (tables, charts, illustrations, etc.) that support instructional information
  • Collaborates with label/marking designers in functional areas to align label/marking and IFU content
  • Utilizes change management system for IFU releases/updates
  • Attends product usability studies to observe operating procedures. May provide inputs for product design improvements, simplification of a graphical user interface, and feature marking
  • Helps establish standardized text, glossaries and nomenclature, style guide and templates, and structure of instructional information
  • Initiates and/or support continuous improvement endeavors within functional area
  • Assists with internal and external audits to support functional area

What You Need:

Required

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, business, technical writing, or a related discipline with an emphasis on communication skills.
  • 4+ years of technical writing experience in medical devices, pharmaceuticals or similarly regulated environments.

Preferred

  • Experience in medical device labeling – preferred
  • Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite, MS Office tools, and Windchill.
  • Working knowledge of FDA and MDR labeling requirements.
  • Knowledge of printing and graphic reproduction practices.
  • Knowledge of XML authoring tools, and XML publishing using CSS.
  • Knowledge of a variety of writing formats, including print, web, and multimedia.

$65,400– $132,300salary plus bonus eligible + Benefits (Health, Vision, Dental, 401K, Tuition Reimbursement, Employee Assistance Program, Wellbeing Program, Employee Stock Purchase Program). This information reflects the anticipated salary range for this position based on current national data. Actual minimum and maximum may vary based on location. Individual pay is based on skills, experience, and other relevant factors.
