Job description

The Digital Content Manager will manage the National Deaf Center's digital content updates while ensuring NDC's overall digital presence is current, accurate, and accessible; possesses brand consistency, and is in a state of continuous improvement for the user experience. NDC's digital assets include resources, website copy, event announcements, images, newsfeed content, videos, newsletters, and interactive web-based tools. The responsibilities for this position include managing content updates, copywriting, analyzing and identifying gaps in website content, optimizing pages for improved search results, building links, knowledge management, and supervising content creation. The manager will be expected to write or revise copy for NDC’s digital presence (website copy, marketing emails, and newsfeed posts) that is optimized for digital engagement and SEO.

Familiarity with WordPress and website analytics is expected. In this role, you should be passionate about technology and digital communications. This position requires strong organization, communication, and time management skills. Must be detail-oriented and able to work independently. This contract ends on September 30, 2023, with the possibility of continuation. This is a remote full-time position, at 40 hours a week.

Purpose

The purpose of this position is to manage, refine, and expand NDC’s overall digital presence.

Responsibilities

  • Manage web content development and updates.
  • Conduct web analytics and identify strategies for improvement.
  • Ensure efficiency in digital content organization and management.
  • Generate new ideas for stakeholder engagement using interactive tools.
  • Optimize copy for digital engagement, UX, and SEO.
  • Develop link-building strategies
  • Keep up to date with new trends and best practices.
  • Demonstrate a commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion through continuous development, modeling inclusive behaviors, and proactively managing bias.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in business, digital marketing, journalism, communications, or a related field.
  • Three or more years of experience working in marketing and communications.
  • Demonstrated expertise with WordPress and Google Analytics.
  • Able to multitask and prioritize assignments.
  • Flexibility and ability to work in a fully team-centered environment.
  • Good organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent written communication skills.
  • Professional demeanor.
  • Beginner proficiency in American Sign Language or willingness to learn.

Relevant education and experience may be substituted as appropriate.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Five or more years of experience working in marketing and communications.
  • Experience working in higher education or nonprofit settings.
  • Demonstrated experience with copywriting.
  • Experience with UX.
  • Intermediate or greater proficiency with American Sign Language.
  • Equivalent experience accepted.

Employment Eligibility:

Retirement Plan Eligibility:

Compliance:
