In the Legal Content Editor role, you will provide support for US Commentary Editorial. The Commentary Editorial team provides legal interpretation in the form of research, analysis, and writing to support the development and maintenance of Thomson Reuters Legal information in all media. Members of this team are also tasked with ensuring that published legal information contains and delivers premium legal content.

We are hiring for this position in our Eagan, MN (MSP) office only. This position allows for flexible working arrangements.

In this opportunity as Legal Content Editor, you will:

  • Assist in the coordination, planning of editorial activities, and delivery of products through production scheduling, resource allocation and vendor preparation for multiple content sets to meet editorial publishing schedules and quality standards.
  • Assist with reviewing and updating editorial content to prepare it for additional review and publishing.
  • Assist with engaging external content providers and managing content submissions and payments following established publishing schedules.
  • Assist with resolving content provider contract and payment issues, often collaborating with external off-site teams.
  • Collaborate with a wide range of internal and external contacts involved in the production and delivery of Legal Commentary products, including virtual and off-site teams/vendors or sourcing partners.
  • Deliver quality by reviewing documentation, following editorial standards, and evaluating work of vendors to ensure that information is properly presented and organized.
  • Exhibit an understanding of editorial production process and requirements and the business drivers behind them.

About You

You’re a fit for the role of Legal Content Editor, if you have:

  • Bachelor’s Degree, paralegal certificate, or equivalent experience.
  • 1+ years experience in publishing, technical support of publishing processes, and/or paralegal work is beneficial.
  • Strong Microsoft Office and other personal computer skills, solid experience with applications and the ability to learn new systems quickly. 
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with internal and external contacts.
  • Analytical, problem-solving, organizational and prioritization skills.
  • Ability to meet multiple deadlines.
  • Ability to manage multiple and complex projects simultaneously.
  • Understanding of U.S. legal concepts and terminology is beneficial.
