Job description

We're looking for a passionate, creative, and craft-centric storyteller who will play a crucial role in telling vivid, impactful stories at Tome. Tome has built an innovative, new format for expressing ideas. Your work will center on showcasing its power through highly creative content, and helping storytellers of all kinds tell their stories with Tome. This is a rare, exciting opportunity to be a pivotal storyteller at a company that exists to help anyone tell a compelling story.

You'll co-create culturally relevant stories with a wide range of thought leaders and changemakers, craft intricate, inspiring stories about Tome's product, technology, brand, and team, spotlight the fascinating creators who trust Tome with their stories (from solo entrepreneurs to creatives, teachers, nonprofits, artists, and more), and create dynamic, editorial resources that help storytellers collaborate with AI, communicate persuasively, and get inspired.

Through leading our content marketing program, you'll:

  • Bolster the creator experience through high-impact, scaled initiatives like templates and inspiring product resources.
  • Raise awareness of and interest in Tome by a) crafting content with thought leaders through our white-glove co-creation program, and b) leading the Tome Blog, where you'll cultivate and tell stories about Tome and Tome creators
  • Longer-term, you'll shape Tome's editorial coverage of areas such as narrative, craft, designing for human augmentation with AI, and leveling the playing field with generative technology.
  • You'll also support content partnerships and broader brand activations through bespoke content development.

Our content marketing manager should exude storytelling excellence and tap into the cultural zeitgeist. You love obsessing over word choices and design details so that the stories we create are culturally relevant, exquisitely crafted, and highly creative. As a storyteller and steward of Tome's mission, brand, and community, you'll ensure Tome-supported content showcases the best of the product and embodies craft excellence.

What you'll do

  • Spin up and lead an impactful, scaled template program
  • Create innovative educational content, crafted to support and inspire creators
  • Craft immersive editorial storytelling with external thought leaders and changemakers through our white glove co-creation program, on a range of culturally relevant topics
  • Bring the Tome Blog to life. Discover, pitch, and craft the stories we tell about our mission, product, technology, team, and Tome creators
  • Establish Tome as a thought leader and best-in-class resource in areas such as narrative, generative creation, craft, design, leveling the playing field with AI, and idea expression through incisive editorial
  • Support creative content partnerships and brand activations with bespoke content & editorial
  • Partner with the social media and go-to-market team to shape how Tome content & editorial is expressed across channels
  • Work closely with our brand designers to ensure Tome content is visually inspiring and elevates our brand
  • Develop key success metrics, assess content effectiveness, and refine the strategy as needed
  • Help support a growing, broad community of storytellers by being a steward of creator feedback and UGC

Who you Are:

  • 3+ years of experience leading a content program or high-impact content initiative
  • Exceptional storytelling skills, editorial taste, and attention to detail
  • You're an excellent, creative writer who deeply understands how to captivate and persuade. You're not going to get stuck in tech bubbles or corporate BS
  • You know what's trending in pop culture and tech, and you can pivot to seize an opportunity as headlines emerge
  • You have experience crafting both editorial content, as well as brand-centric storytelling
  • You can successfully balance creative, operational, and strategic work in a fast-paced environment
  • You can strategically shape content programs. But you're also a self-starter, who's excited about day-to-day, hands-on creation
