The Marketing Director (Media and Content) plays the primary role of developing, implementing and measuring the paid media strategy and execution and ensuring the brand has the right content for all media types and marketing opportunities (online, offline, in restaurants). This role will oversee and ensure the development of great content that follows channel best practices, in written, verbal and visual forms, from idea conceptualization to publication for all media types, restaurant design, restaurant support, etc. The Marketing Director works with our internal creative team, internal construction and design team as well as external creative resources to oversee the production of all creative for paid, owned, earned channels – determining the right resources (i.e. agency partners, freelancers, internal talent). As part of this, the individual develops high-level relationships with external partners for content sourcing, with the goal of expanding and increasing the engagement level of the audience and the quality of the content produced. The Marketing Director leads the internal creative team in brainstorming content creation material and strategies that will attract and retain our specific target audience. In addition, the Marketing Director has a deep understanding of all media types, and measurement strategies and a keen eye towards optimizing both the short- and long-term results from our marketing investment.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Plan, develop, implement and manage the multi-channel paid media strategy to drive prospecting and acquisition, performance, growth and other key business goals and objectives with a media agency. Develop a test-and-learn approach to optimize in-channel and across the mix.
  • Leverage data and insights to direct paid media strategy, messaging strategy, content strategy, channel planning, communication mapping, and measurement planning
  • Work across the Marketing team to determine the ideal paid media mix and content needs based on brand and business objectives
  • Ensure all content elevates the perception of the brand and communicates the totality of our brand story
  • Partner with external content creators, influencers, etc. Partnerships paid or organic such as celebrities, social media “stars” etc.
  • Oversees all creative briefs and finds appropriate resources
  • Manages internal and outsourced creative resources
  • Manages external media partner relationship
  • Closely partners with finance to develop and continuously improve our measurement capabilities – ensuring we are investing our marketing dollars in the most effective and high-return ways
  • Find and curate external partnerships (influencers, celebrities/athletes, thought leaders, etc.) that can create and/or amplify content for the brand
  • Provide strategic leadership and vision for paid marketing; establish strategic initiatives to achieve the performance marketing goals – with a focus on core metrics, testing and optimization
  • Demonstrate agility in adjusting plans according to performance
  • Implement a holistic measurement plan to more deeply understand the ROI of our investment
  • Provide oversight and leadership to the creative & content teams to execute according to channel best practices
  • Analyze complex data to make meaningful and actionable strategic decisions; communicate & share KPIs, trends, insights, and challenges across the organization
  • Plan, execute, and measure experiments and conversion tests to lower CAC and increase conversions across all performance marketing channels
  • Drive continuous improvement through structured and rigorous optimization of creative and messaging across all channels
  • Define and drive the roadmap for marketing analytics that supports paid marketing in accomplishing its goals
  • Keep key stakeholders informed of emerging digital trends/technologies and innovative digital marketing programs, within the restaurant industry and other industries


  • 10+ years of working experience in a content editing/writing position with an ability to edit technical material
  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent in marketing, business or a related field
  • A passionate leader with a drive to test and lead
  • Proven ability to drive results through paid media
  • A highly flexible and adaptive out-of-the-box thinker with sharp analytical and problem-solving skills and the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to analyze complex data to make meaningful and actionable decisions
  • An effective communicator who knows how to build teams and inspire team members to output their best work and seek collaboration to drive toward common goals
  • Deep understanding and proven track record of managing acquisition and retention-focused campaigns, strategies and benchmarks
  • Strong understanding of (and passion for) current and emerging digital trends, channels, platforms, and technologies, both within and outside of healthcare
  • Experience working in Facebook Ads, Google Ads, Google Analytics, email marketing, building customer lists, and other performance marketing tools.
  • Experience with A/B and multivariate experiments/testing
  • Excellent skills in Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint. Proficient or teachable in certain software, such as InCopy, Adobe Creative Suite, photo/image management, SalesForce and Swapcard
