This position is located in the Department of Homeland Security, Office of Public Affairs, Washington, District of Columbia. The primary purpose of this position is to be responsible for independently planning and performing the work of the position, identifying issues and problems, initiating action to resolve them, and discussing with the Director of Web Communications any controversial or sensitive issues that may significantly impact DHS.

As a WEB Content Manager, GS-0301-13, your typical work assignments may include:

  • Coordinate the planning, drafting, editing, approving and publication of web content to the website.
  • Serve as Office of Public Affairs contact and project manager for web public awareness campaigns, special projects, and priority content.
  • Ensure consistency, accuracy and execution of campaigns, publications, and communications materials.
  • Serve as the subject matter expert and trainer for content management system, developing and executing concurrent in-person and online training.
  • Participate in communication improvement projects.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for projects related to the content on

Specialized Experience:

GS-13: Applicant must demonstrate one full year of specialized experience comparable in scope and responsibility to the GS-12 level in the Federal service (obtained in either the public or private sectors) performing the following duties:

  • Coordinating the planning, drafting, editing, approving and publication of content on medium to large websites to ensure freshness and relevance;
  • Ensuring quality assurance (plane language, broken links, accessibility, etc) on medium to large websites;¬†AND
  • Compiling and analyzing customer satisfaction and web analytics information using Google Analytics or a similar platform. (The contents of your resume must support your claim of specialized experience)
