Job description

Uncommon Marketing Works, a boutique B2B inbound marketing agency, is hiring a Content Specialist. This position is ideal for an experienced content writer that is interested in advancing their career path. The ideal candidate will excel at project management and content marketing.

The Content Specialist supports the implementation of client communications and content. Key components of this position include managing multiple priorities and deadlines, taking the initiative to accomplish tasks and meet client objectives, and delivering high-quality work to internal teams and clients.

Responsibilities include:

  • Participate on project teams, and support and handle day-to-day execution of marketing communications tactics (content development, media pitching, SEO backlink strategy, social media) in support of client objectives.
  • Draft written content as needed for client use; this includes fact sheets/backgrounders, marketing one-pagers, white papers, eBooks, earned media materials, digital/social content, newsletters, blog posts, and other relevant client content/communications.
  • Assist in developing editorial calendars, brand personas and tone of voice
  • Track and monitor project tasks, milestones and deliverables using project management software to ensure deadlines are met.
  • Engage with all functional areas across the firm to coordinate the execution of project tasks and the resolution of issues, ensuring seamless coordination among teams.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in marketing, communications, advertising, political science or a related field
  • 2 to 3 years experience in a communications role
  • Experience using various digital platforms and data analytics
  • Proficiency with MS Office; experience with Google Apps is desirable
  • Superior organizational, multitasking, and detail-orientation skills
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to motivate and work collaboratively with a mix of personalities
  • Demonstrated leadership abilities, including issue recognition, problem-solving and facilitation of issue resolution
  • Strong proofreading skills with the utmost attention to detail
  • Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
  • Experience with Hubspot
  • Previous agency experience preferred
