This Senior Content Manager position is responsible for the development and accuracy and quality of content used by proposal writers to respond to UnitedHealthcare Key Accounts, Public Sector and National Account requests for proposals (RFPs). The Senior Content Manager will work with subject matter experts (SMEs) throughout the organization to obtain up-to-date information about complex company products and services and will maintain this information according to an established refresh schedule. In addition, the Senior Content Manager will be heavily involved in non-standard RFP questions, which require input and outreach to Subject Matter Experts. The Senior Content Manager may also be asked to contribute to projects that support team or department initiatives as necessary including, but not limited to training and educating team members and proposal writers.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Write, edit and proofread proposal content such as program overviews and questions and answers
  • Assume a lead role in managing relationships with SMEs and other business partners to proactively ensure the quality and accuracy of the content on an ongoing basis
  • Interface with subject matter experts (SMEs) at every level of the organization as part of the content review, and ad hoc RFP question process
  • Meet minimum quality, productivity and service metrics
  • Respond to non-standard ad hoc RFP questions
  • Author content via Qvidian Proposal Automation software
  • Create new proposal documents as required to support evolving business and electronic proposal strategy changes
  • Develop a high level of expertise and depth of knowledge on assigned topics/categories and possess the ability to educate proposal writers on content and/or sources of information available to them
  • Collaborate with and receive direction from the Proposal Content Team Manager by applying best practice editorial and content management processes using the proposal response database
  • Assist proposal writers in creating ad hoc responses for RFPs relative to their assigned topics/categories
  • Support activities focused on increasing adoption, utilization, usability and user satisfaction for operational systems and content output. Identify and deliver training/education in support of these activities
  • Support reporting and activities that track data, and measure productivity and quality
  • Collaborate with UnitedHealth Group service units and sister companies to assure database integrity as well as appropriate marketing language and overall messaging
  • Ability to understand the customer’s needs and customize responses, as needed, that will deliver maximum value to our internal and external customers

Required Qualifications:

  • 3+ years of experience in marketing and/or communications
  • 2+ years of health care industry experience; proposal development experience
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Word (formatting experience and/or working with templates) 
  • Proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Journalism, English, Communications, or related field
  • Qvidian Proposal Automation software experience
  • Solid Web-based communications and content management system experience
  • Excellent writing, editing, oral and interpersonal communication skills
  • Excellent organizational skills and the ability to manage and deliver multiple tasks efficiently, effectively and on time in a metrics-based organization
  • Effective project management capabilities and ability to deliver results as part of a team and/or as an individual contributor

Colorado, Connecticut or Nevada Residents Only: The salary range for Colorado residents is $66,100 to $118,300. The salary range for Connecticut / Nevada residents is $72,800 to $129,900. Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to education, work experience, certifications, etc. In addition to your salary, UnitedHealth Group offers benefits such as a comprehensive benefits package, incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase and 401k contribution (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements).
