We are looking for a Lead Content Designer to join Virgin Money’s Strategic Design function. As an expert in your field, you will have direct accountability for implementing our digital content standards, developing our brand tone of voice and shaping our digital content strategy. 

Working closely with the Head of Digital Design, you will be responsible for leading a team of talented and capable content designers and defining best practices for Content Design in Virgin Money. You will work also across multiple cross-bank projects and ensure our digital content strategy is visible, understood and applied.

We’ll ask you to...

  • Lead our Content Design function, and our team of talented content designers
  • Define and implement best practices for content design
  • Work with the Head of Digital Design to stand up a Content Design Centre of Excellence
  • Deliver our digital content standards, and tone of voice and be a champion for content strategy best practices
  • Take responsibility for content quality throughout the product development process ensuring content is always on tone and on brand
  • Work closely with senior stakeholders to resolve problems and develop future projects
  • Promote the content design discipline by engaging with the cross-bank community

There are a few essentials you need to bring...

  • Be able to influence business direction with strategic design thinking
  • An expert at designing digital services, with a proven track record of success
  • Be a strong leader, both internally within a design team and externally with senior stakeholders
  • Be able to influence and challenge internal functions to ensure that the user experience and customer needs are always at the core of what we deliver
  • Exceptionally well-organised, and able to establish working practices for a team of people
  • Substantive years of experience working at a senior level within this area of design

We’d love you to have... 

  • Experience in leading a team of content designers
  • Experience in setting and implementing best-practice content design within a company
  • Experience in creating and iterating content across multiple digital channels including, but not limited to: user interface copy, microcopy, user education, direct or transactional sales or product servicing content
  • Experience collaborating with Product Management, Design, User Research, Engineering, Commercial and Marketing teams
  • Experience in defining and implementing a brand tone of voice
  • A background in copywriting, UX writing or writing for the web
  • Knowledge of style guides, pattern libraries and content modelling
  • Knowledge of content management systems
  • Experience with the Agile development process
