The Associate Content Strategist will be a dynamic, creative individual whose focus is on content marketing strategy for local businesses—primarily small, single-location businesses. The Content Marketing Strategist will report to the Senior Manager of Content & Social Strategy and will assist in the Content Department’s efforts:
to produce short content for hundreds of small- and medium-sized businesses
to help train and enable our account management team to deliver a world-class content marketing service
This role requires a self-starting, curious marketer who can develop per-client and per-vertical strategies.
Main projects will include:
Identifying gaps in client content and recommending new topics
Assisting with training the Account Management Team on content strategy development to better work with clients directly and impact their marketing results
Assisting with training the Editing Team on content topic generation
Monitoring and enforcing quality standards of topics across all teams
Conducting calls with clients whose content does not align with their marketing goals or struggle to generate new topics (the Associate Content Strategist will spend 15-25% of their time on client calls)
Working on content-related initiatives between the two departments (filling out client editorial notes, getting approved content ideas from clients, etc.)
Required Skills
2-3 years of experience in digital marketing or content creation
Goal-driven—both personally and for the team’s overall success
The ability to turn dull content into colorful, shareworthy copy
Familiarity with SEO guidelines and keyword research tools (e.g. Google Keyword Planner)
A degree in marketing, communications, journalism, or English
Solid writing and editing skills
Ability to multitask and meet tight deadlines without micromanagement
Ability to guide and motivate team members

Experience using Content Management Systems (CMS) and Salesforce
Ability to understand and write for different audiences and industries
