The Digital Content Designer works cross-functionally with Product Owners, UX/UI Designers and Front-End Engineers to implement modern experiences that delight customers on WM.com and other digital channels that receive millions of visits per month. The role crafts content for WM.com, the new My WM mobile app and additional digital properties to meet customer acquisition and retention objectives across WM’s key lines of business.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities 

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.  Other minor duties may be assigned. Works with stakeholders from market areas and various corporate functions to conceptualize and implement new pages on WM.com, including visual direction and content strategy

  • Collaborates with brand team to ensure visual and content standards are consistently upheld on WM.com
  • Participates in daily stand-ups and grooming sessions with technical teams to discuss the implementation of new features and functionality on WM.com
  • Reviews and approves content provided by content analysts and outside agencies to ensure relevance, clarity and accuracy
  • Plans research initiatives in collaboration with the User Experience team to ensure customer needs are consistently met through WM.com content
  • Ensures WM.com content is optimized for maximum SEO value in collaboration with Digital Marketing team
  • Optimizes site performance and technical architecture in collaboration with design and development teams; finding ways to improve content taxonomy and regularly documenting new processes and procedures related to content optimization


The requirements listed below are representative of the qualifications necessary to perform the job.   


Bachelor’s Degree (accredited) in Communications, Marketing, Writing or similar area of study, or in lieu of degree, High School Diploma or GED (accredited) and 4 years of relevant work experience.


Three (3) years relevant work experience (in addition to education requirements)

Other Knowledge, Skills or Abilities Required

Technically advanced or in-depth knowledge or skills in one or more of the following required:

Excellent grammar, writing and communication skills, including the ability to adapt writing style across various mediums – e.g. video scripts, UX copy, etc.

  • Knowledge of UX heuristics and best practices; willingness to challenge assumptions and conduct a research-led and customer first approach to content creation
  • Expert knowledge of Adobe Experience Manager
  • Knowledge of best practices related to the optimization of images, videos and other assets for the web
  • Experience working with digital marketers, SEO and SEM professionals; able to optimize content for search while maintain authenticity and brand voice
  • Genuine passion for providing an excellent user experience and well-versed in current best practices in digital content and experiences
  • Ability to work cross-functionally in a fast-paced environment to ensure alignment, growth and continued success
  • Equally comfortable working in creative, collaborative settings and going “heads down” to complete content production work when required
  • Highly detail oriented and willing to take initiative to work across the organization to solve problems
  • Experience working with multiple content reviewers and incorporating feedback from various teams
  • Familiarity with customer support content
  • Experience collaborating with other writers as well as UX designers, visual designers and digital marketers
  • Experience working in an Agile / Scrum environment

Other Knowledge, Skills or Abilities that Contribute to Success

Experience using Adobe Experience Manager or similar enterprise content management systems.

  • Experience handling content in multiple languages is a plus.
