We are seeking talented Information Technology professionals to join the Waste Management team who are motivated to help us transform the way we design, build and use technology. With your skills and experience, we look for you to combine your technical expertise with industry best practices to align information technology solutions with Waste Management business strategy.

You will lead Digital Content cross-functionally with Product Owners, UX/UI Designers and Front-End Engineers to implement modern experiences that delight customers on WM.com and other digital channels that receive millions of visits per month. In this role, you will craft content for WM.com, the new My WM mobile app and additional digital properties to meet customer acquisition and retention objectives across WM’s key lines of business. This is a dynamic team that supports all stages of the digital product cycle. You will ensure the content complies with brand guidelines, industry standards and best practices for accessibility, usability, and human-centered interaction. You will thrive in an agile work environment that iterates on learnings. 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Works with stakeholders from market areas and various corporate functions to conceptualize and implement new pages on WM.com.
  • Drives visual direction and content strategy.
  • Collaborates with the brand team to ensure visual and content standards are consistently upheld on WM.com.
  • Participates in daily stand-ups and grooming sessions with technical teams to discuss the implementation of new features and functionality on WM.com
  • Reviews and approved content provided by content analysts and outside agencies to ensure relevance, clarity and accuracy.
  • Plans research initiatives in collaboration with the User Experience team to ensure customer needs are consistently met through WM.com content.
  • Ensures WM.com content is optimized for maximum SEO value in collaboration with the Digital Marketing team.
  • Optimizes site performance and technical architecture in collaboration with design and development teams.
  • Seeks ways to improve content taxonomy and regularly documenting new processes and procedures related to content optimization. 
  • Applies excellent grammar, writing, and communication skills.
  • Able to apply various writing styles across various mediums such as video scripts, UX Copies for websites, applications, social channels and mobile devices.  
  • Displays knowledge of UX heuristics and best practices with the willingness to challenge assumptions.
  • Conducts research-led and customer-first approach to content creation.
  • Partners with digital marketers, SEO and SEM professionals, optimizing content for search while maintaining authenticity and brand voice. 

Qualifications

The requirements listed below are representative of the qualifications necessary to perform the job. 

A. Education and Experience

  • Bachelors Degree (accredited) or in lieu of degree, High School Diploma or GED (accredited)
  • Five (5) years of previous experience in addition to the education experience. 

B. Preferred Experience

  • Bachelor's Degree in Communications, Marketing, Writing or similar area of study.
  • 5 years of experience in a Content Designer, Analyst or Writer role in a corporate business environment.
  • Adobe Experience Manager 
  • Agile Experience, Jira and Confluence
  • AP Writing Standard and Style
