Communicating ideas and information is vital to providing a stellar user experience and ensuring we’re delivering on the promises we make to our users. Zoom is looking for a Content Designer to shape our product experience. You’ll partner closely with product teams to help them communicate effectively with users, and deliver the right information, in the right way, at the right time. You’ll also play a key role in defining Content Design as a discipline here at Zoom, establishing best practices, creating guidelines for tone, style, and voice for the teams you work with, and educating the organization on Content Design as a strategic function.

This role excels not just at writing, editing, and collaboration, but also at developing ways to scale your impact. Our Content Design team strives to understand our users and their needs through data and insights, and to create the most intuitive, delightful experience on their behalf. The UX writer also needs to be adept at balancing personality and function in their approach to create a cohesive, unified experience for our users.

Core Responsibilities

  • Work with Product, Design, and Engineering to define, test and iterate in-product copy
  • Work with our UX Research team to test and validate that content is clear and memorable.
  • Develop tools and frameworks to help scale Content Design across the organization
  • Set a scalable copy standard, and drive adherence to Content Design best practices based on industry standards, internal learnings, branding guidelines, research and data.

Basic Qualifications

  • 2+ years of content design experience
  • 2+ years of experience writing for multiple audiences and contexts
  • Proficient in English with exceptional US-based grammar and copywriting skills
  • Experience creating content design systems, guides and frameworks
  • Experience working with stakeholders to prioritize projects and create a roadmap

Preferred Qualifications

  • Exceptional communication and collaboration skills.
  • Experience working with remote teams and an international audience
  • Own, develop and evangelize copy guidelines and tone of voice
  • Experience driving programs related to online content strategy, content delivery tools, content taxonomy and classification, and/or the user experience with content.
  • Strong bias for action in a fast-paced, metric-driven environment
  • Self-motivated team player, with refined and assertive leadership skills.
  • The ability to influence others to set and achieve goals and deadlines.
