Being a leader means being asked to do the seemingly impossible, over and over again, without a map. We routinely think, "If I was someone else, I'd know what to do." But the (pretty wild!) truth is, they wouldn't either. Because there isn't a one-size fits all solution to the contextually complex scenarios we're faced with.
In this talk, we'll look real examples of challenges other leaders and I have faced that felt insurmountable - deciding how to approach layoffs lists, saving headcount when the company wants to go in a different direction, and more - and discuss how the impossible actually gets done. I can't promise to give you with a map, but you will leave with tangible ideas to help you approach the hard stuff no one talks about.
