I live with my husband Micah and our son in Durham, N.C.—where you can find me fighting the millennial urge to monetize my hobbies of calligraphy and watercolor. Not too long after I finished grad school at UNC Charlotte, I began my content career began as a Technical Writing at a medical billing software company. This is when I learned about content strategy after searching, "people who write words in apps" and realizing I wanted to be that person. From there I gained experience in the realms of finance, energy, aerospace, and entertainment. I even took a break to study UX "officially" at a bootcamp. When I completed the program I thought I wanted to be a Product Designer, but discovered my UX niche is in content. Over the last 8 years I've had several different titles—Tech Writer, Business Process Analyst, Content Strategist, and UX Writer—with each one has preparing me for my current role as a Marketing Content Designer.
