Technical Writer

Overview: Australia Wide (Initial 2 weeks on-site in Kingston Tasmania, then 2 days/month) Until June 2026, with potential 12-month extension

What we need from you:

• Proven experience as a Technical Writer in WHS or compliance-heavy environments.
• Strong knowledge of WHS Management Systems (ISO45001:2018).
• Skilled in MS Word and document formatting best practices.
• Experience using generative AI tools to aid documentation workflows.

Are you a skilled Technical Writer with a passion for safety and compliance? We're seeking an experienced professional to support the revision of a federal Safety Management System, including Safety Standards, Manuals, Standard Operating Procedures, and Guidelines.

Key Responsibilities:

• Work closely with subject matter experts to assess, revise, and produce safety documentation aligned with ISO45001:2018 standards.
• Use generative AI tools to assist with content production and information synthesis.
• Create plain English content targeted at a reading age of 14, evaluated using Flesch-Kincaid, Flesch Reading Ease, and SMOG tests.
• Develop and apply standardised templates for safety-related documents.
• Collaborate with a WHS team, receiving and submitting work packages for review.
• Ensure all documentation meets formatting and clarity standards, and is owned exclusively by the client.
