Overview
Our client is seeking a talented Content Designer to join a multidisciplinary digital delivery team focused on creating user-centred digital products and services. This role offers the opportunity to work alongside designers, researchers, product specialists, analysts, and engineers to create accessible, evidence-based content that helps users achieve their goals efficiently and effectively. The successful candidate will transform complex information into clear, concise, and engaging digital content while ensuring accessibility, usability, and consistency across digital services. This position is ideal for a content professional with experience in content design, UX writing, digital content strategy, or copywriting within agile delivery environments.
Responsibilities
- Create, review, and continuously improve content for digital products and services.
- Transform complex information, technical content, and policy requirements into clear, user-focused content.
- Ensure all content meets accessibility standards and follows established style guides and best practices.
- Use user research insights, analytics, and performance data to inform content decisions and improvements.
- Map and design content journeys that support positive user experiences and reduce user effort.
- Collaborate with researchers, interaction designers, product teams, and stakeholders to develop effective content solutions.
- Facilitate content reviews and feedback sessions to maintain quality and consistency.
- Manage content development from initial concept through to publication and ongoing optimisation.
- Contribute to content governance, standards, and best practice initiatives.
- Support continuous improvement through testing, iteration, and performance analysis.
Requirements
- Experience in content design, UX writing, copywriting, or digital content creation.
- Experience working within agile delivery environments.
- Ability to simplify complex information for diverse audiences.
- Strong understanding of user-centred design principles.
- Experience using user research and analytics to inform content decisions.
- Knowledge of accessibility standards and inclusive content design practices, including WCAG.
- Excellent written communication, editing, and proofreading skills.
- Strong stakeholder management and collaboration skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and work effectively within multidisciplinary teams.
Desirable
- Experience working on public sector or government digital services projects.
- Knowledge of Government Digital Service (GDS) content standards and guidance.
- Experience using content management systems (CMS).
- Basic understanding of HTML and digital publishing processes.
- Experience contributing to content design communities, standards, or style guides.
