Job description
As a Content Strategist, you lead the development and implementation of search engine optimized content for your mid-tier to high-tier content marketing programs. You communicate regularly with your clients and occasionally travel to meet with them face-to-face. You make strategic recommendations based on data and keyword research and delegate tasks to the Content Production Team.
You leverage digital platforms to strategically and creatively develop copy, keeping your clients’ goals top of mind. You primarily work on content analyses, competitive analyses, blog analyses, reporting, and content and line edit analyses; you also meet with clients and provide innovative content marketing solutions to drive their strategies forward. Your ability to introduce innovative and fresh ideas to your clients will ensure both your and your clients’ success!
Job Expectations
- Provide excellent service as the main point of contact for assigned client accounts
- Identify and implement content marketing tactics and best practices
- Monitor and communicate directly to clients the performance of content marketing initiatives and present recommendations to increase engagement and page traffic
- Retain and grow your clients’ content marketing program revenue through renewals
- Develop content implementation schedules and editorial calendars to ensure timely development and distribution
- Adhere to branding guidelines, along with required voice and tone
- Conduct keyword research and topic ideation
- Edit, rewrite, and proofread existing content created for Go Local Interactive and its clientele
- Conduct regular analyses and deliver recommendations for improvement
- Leverage digital platforms to strategically implement content
- Occasionally develop content for location pages, static pages, and blogs
- Mentor Content Strategy Interns
- Clearly and consistently communicate between internal product teams
- Present solutions and recommendations based on data analysis related to content to prospective clients
- Develop long-term strategies for assigned client’s content marketing programs
- Delegate tasks to Content Production Team
- Ensure internal programs are properly positioned with our clients through product innovation and ideation
- Research and stay up-to-date on industry trends
Requirements
Job Qualifications
- Must demonstrate a proven track record of the ability to prioritize, organize, and multi-task in a flexible and fast paced environment to effectively meet deadlines
- Must demonstrate strong conceptual and written communication skills with a deep understanding of the English language (spelling, grammar, and vocabulary)
- Must demonstrate a proven track record of improving personal performance after receiving direction and constructive criticism
- Must demonstrate strong communication and presentation skills
- Must demonstrate creative and strategic thinking when solving problems
- Must demonstrate attention to detail while creating and revising projects
- Must demonstrate a basic understanding of content management systems, such as WordPress
- Must demonstrate a basic understanding of Google Analytics, Search Engine Optimization, User Experience, and Accessibility
- Demonstrate proficient skills in Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint, or the Google Business Suite equivalents
Required Experience
- Bachelor’s Degree in English, Mass Communications, Journalism or another related field preferred
- 2+ years of related work experience
- Google Analytics Certification is preferred
