Job description
As a Mid-Level Technical Content Writer at MRI Software's Johannesburg office, you will be responsible for developing and producing clear, accurate, and commercially effective product marketing content that communicates the value of the company's platform and solutions to target buyers across global markets. This includes translating complex product capabilities, features, and use cases into compelling written content across a range of product marketing formats and focusing on clarity, accuracy, and commercial impact.
This role will require working UK business hours to support the global team, with a hybrid working model of 3 days of working from home per week.
Duties/Responsibilities:
Product Collateral & Solution Content:
- Write and edit product-focused collateral including solution briefs, data sheets, feature overviews, and capability summaries.
- Translate product positioning and messaging frameworks into clear, buyer-ready written assets.
- Ensure accuracy and consistency across multiple product lines and segments.
- Write and edit website copy for product and solution pages, ensuring alignment to product positioning and messaging.
Product Presentations:
- Write and structure content for product presentations used in sales, events, and customer-facing contexts.
- Ensure presentation copy is clear, accurate, and aligned to messaging frameworks.
- Develop slide narrative and supporting copy for varied buyer audiences.
Sales Enablement Content:
- Develop sales enablement assets including battle cards, competitive comparison documents, objection handling guides, and product FAQs.
- Translate technical product information into clear, usable content that supports sales conversations.
- Gather feedback from sales teams to improve the relevance and usability of enablement content.
Middle & Bottom of Funnel Content:
- Write customer case studies, ROI guides, comparison pages, and nurture copy.
- Develop email nurture copy and mid-funnel content sequences tailored to specific buyer stages and product interests.
- Write product demo scripts, guided tour narratives, and trial onboarding copy.
Alignment & Execution
Model Cross-Functional Collaboration:
- Work closely with Product Marketing Managers and collaborate with digital, web, and Creative Studio teams.
- Liaise with product and subject matter experts to validate technical accuracy.
- Coordinate with regional marketing teams for localisation of core product content.
Content Quality & Governance:
- Ensure all content adheres to brand voice, tone guidelines, and accuracy standards.
- Apply consistent editorial standards and participate in review and approval workflows.
Planning & Process:
- Manage a varied personal content workload across multiple product lines and asset types.
- Maintain visibility into project status and communicate proactively with the Content Manager.
- Contribute to continuous improvement of content production workflows.
Measurement:
- Track usage and performance of key content assets and apply feedback to improve quality and relevance over time.
- Contribute to regular reporting on content asset coverage and gaps across the product portfolio.
Required Skills/Abilities:
Experience & Expertise:
- 3-6 years of experience in technical writing, product marketing content, or B2B content creation.
- Demonstrated ability to write product-focused content to a professional standard.
- Experience writing middle and bottom of funnel content.
- Familiarity with SEO best practices and sales enablement content formats.
Skills & Capabilities:
- Strong written communication skills with a clear, precise, and commercially focused style.
- Ability to represent complex product information in buyer-friendly language.
- Highly organized with strong attention to detail.
- Collaborative working style and self-motivation.
- Familiarity with project management or content tracking tools an advantage.
