Robert Half is partnering with a global leader in consumer electronics and smart technology in search of a Senior UX Writer to join their team for a contract opportunity in Seattle. This is a fantastic opportunity to contribute to foundational UX work across a portfolio of innovative devices and services, including smart displays, tablets, and entertainment platforms.
Senior UX Writer (Consumer Devices)
Location: Seattle, WA (Hybrid – must be local)
Contract Length: 3-month contract with potential for extension or conversion
Pay Rate: $70–$73/hour
In this role, you'll be embedded within a collaborative design team and play a critical part in shaping the voice, clarity, and usability of multimodal interfaces. Your content will directly influence interaction design and be experienced by millions of users around the world.
Key Responsibilities:
- Craft clear, concise, and user-centered content for device features, settings, system messages, and user flows.
- Collaborate with UX designers, product managers, legal, and engineering to align content with design intent and business goals.
- Inform interaction design with language that enhances comprehension and usability across multimodal touchpoints.
- Respond to intake tickets, prioritize requests, and manage multiple projects simultaneously (3–7 at any given time).
- Ensure content adheres to accessibility standards, brand guidelines, and design system patterns.
- Support localization and character count constraints, ensuring content is international-ready.
- Contribute to post-launch reviews and performance analysis to continuously improve content strategy.
Required Skills & Experience:
- 5+ years of UX writing experience, with at least 3 years focused on consumer devices or similar hardware/software ecosystems.
- Proven ability to develop content for multimodal interfaces, including touch, voice, and visual platforms.
- Strong experience collaborating within cross-functional teams and informing interaction design.
- Demonstrated expertise in localization practices and working within character constraints.
- Comfortable writing across tools like Figma, Google Docs, Confluence, Quip, and Microsoft Word.
- Strong attention to detail, a passion for user experience, and the ability to balance clarity with brand tone.
Preferred Background:
- Experience working on or with smart home products, entertainment devices, or interactive consumer technology.
- Background in content strategy, with the ability to define content approaches across products or systems.
- Familiarity with managing style guides and contributing to design systems.
