We are relentless in pursuit of what our clients are owed, and we are looking for a content strategist who brings that same tenacity to the work of telling our story.

UtiliSave has been an industry leader in utility bill auditing services for over 35 years and is still growing rapidly. We are seeking a marketing content writer with exceptional writing skills and extensive experience across the full spectrum of social media platforms and the creation of original content for our website, LinkedIn and other social channels, email campaigns, sales materials, presentations, case studies, white papers, and executive thought leadership content. Our business serves the B2B marketplace. The right candidate will build and scale our content function to strengthen UtiliSave's brand and affirm UtiliSave and its CEO's standing as the definitive industry thought leader.

Our clients are large organizations with significant energy and utility usage, such as manufacturers, hospitals, nursing homes, commercial and residential buildings, universities, hotels, religious and government facilities. We identify unique savings opportunities using our unmatched knowledge of utility tariff structures and our powerful proprietary IT and knowledge-based systems and we back our work with a legal team when the utilities push back.

What You'll Build Here

This role is the foundation of UtiliSave's content and branding engine. You will own the full content strategy — representing the voice, the materials, and the pipeline of ideas that position UtiliSave and its leadership as the authoritative voice in utility cost recovery. As the company grows toward $1 billion in delivered savings, this role is expected to expand in scope, influence, and headcount, with support staff added as the content operation scales.

Responsibilities

  • Learn and understand all facets of our business processes including our audit methodology, tariff expertise, and client success stories to create content that communicates our value with authority and precision.
  • Develop and execute comprehensive marketing content strategies aligned with company goals, including posts, social media content and campaigns, email campaigns, and marketing materials.
  • Lead the content creation that promotes our brand strategy and ensures consistent messaging, which is honest, expert, and tenacious across all touchpoints.
  • Oversee and develop digital marketing content aligned with company goals and objectives, including SEO/SEM, paid media (Google Ads, Meta, LinkedIn), email marketing, and website performance to increase brand awareness and lead generation.
  • Conduct research on market trends, customer behavior, competitor activity, and growth opportunities, and convert those insights into sharper, more effective content.
  • Support PR opportunities, speaking engagements, and partnerships to elevate brand authority and advance UtiliSave's standing as the definitive market and thought leader in utility cost recovery.
  • Track content performance across channels; use data, testing, and AI-assisted workflows to continuously improve quality, reach, and effectiveness.
  • Serve as brand guardian for all written and created content, internal and external ensuring every piece reflects UtiliSave's commitment to accuracy, transparency, and professionalism.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in English, Communications, Journalism, Marketing, or a related field.
  • 3+ years of content creation experience in a B2B environment.
  • Deep knowledge of digital marketing, paid media, SEO/SEM, and performance analytics to guide content creation.
  • Exceptional writing skills — clear, precise, and persuasive — with the ability to translate complex technical and regulatory subject matter into compelling content for a sophisticated B2B audience.
  • Experience writing for B2B audiences, including case studies, white papers, and thought leadership content.
  • Self-starter with a proactive and creative mindset who is as tenacious about results as the team they are supporting.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Experience with AI-assisted writing tools such as Claude, ChatGPT, Jasper, or similar; comfort using AI to accelerate content production without sacrificing brand voice or accuracy.
  • Portfolio or writing samples are required and must be submitted with the application. Applications submitted without writing samples will not be reviewed.
  • Experience with graphic design tools such as Canva, Photoshop, and video editing software.
  • Proficiency with marketing automation platforms such as Active Campaign, Marketo, Klaviyo, HubSpot, Mailchimp, or similar tools.
  • Experience with website content management: WordPress, Squarespace, or Wix.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and prioritize tasks under tight deadlines.
  • Ability to independently solve problems and think creatively.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of the organization.

Compensation & Benefits

  • Salary: $55,000–$65,000/year, with performance-based increases upon demonstrated proficiency

This is a full-time, remote position. You must have a dedicated, distraction-free workspace with reliable high-speed internet during all working hours.

Work hours: 9:00 a.m. – 6:00 p.m. EST

You must reside in a U.S. state within one (1) hour of Eastern Time (ET or CT time zones).

You must be authorized to permanently work in the U.S. as a U.S. Citizen or active Green Card holder. No visa sponsorship is available for this role.
