Job description

Amazon Web Services (AWS) is the pioneer and recognized leader in Cloud Computing. Our web services provide a platform for IT infrastructure in-the-cloud that is used by hundreds of thousands of developers and businesses around the world. These customers range from startups to leading web companies to Global 500 companies in every major industry. Increasingly, these companies are looking at AWS not just as a technology provider, but as a strategic partner that can speed their ability to innovate in the fast and ever-changing digital economy.

As a member of AWS Worldwide Revenue Operations, you will play a critical role in helping us achieve our mission to build the most efficient sales organization in the world. You will be part of the team chartered with building the AWS Sales Governance Playbook, the definitive guide for how the global AWS field should operate at each stage of the sales cycle and leverage a growing ecosystem of programs, tools, and engagement strategies. You will be responsible for producing and publishing the playbook on the AWS sales intranet, ensuring that all playbook content adheres to editorial standards and meets a high quality bar. Using SEO best practices, you’ll ensure that the content is discoverable and easy for sellers to find. You will also contribute to the information experience design on the AWS sales portal, ensuring playbook content is organized and presented in a way that fosters efficient and effective understanding.

Responsibilities

  • Own the full production cycle for the playbook on the AWS sales intranet: validating page objectives and audience, ensuring content readiness, rationalizing redundant site content, handling asset permissions and version control, building the pages following documented guidelines, and managing stakeholder reviews.
  • Maintain editorial governance by ensuring content is up-to-date and follows established templates, design patterns, authoring guidelines, and standards on content structure, metadata provisioning, and term management.
  • Provide accurate estimates of content development timelines to feed into a content launch calendar.
  • Provide recommendations to the IX/UX team on template design and other digital information experiences that make content consumption easy and remove barriers to understanding.
  • Implement feedback mechanisms and track content effectiveness metrics to fine tune content design.

The ideal candidate has exceptionally high standards and an unwavering attention to detail, even under tight deadlines. You show serious obsession for our sellers and have the backbone to advocate on their behalf, yet are also able to disagree and commit when needed. This role requires excellent project and time management skills in order to deliver results in an ambiguous and rapidly changing environment. You’re able to own content projects from start to finish, leading discussions with stakeholders, making good trade-off decisions, and solving problems with autonomy.

Other preferred locations: Seattle, WA/ Dallas, TX/ Boston, MA/ Arlington, VA/ or other Virtual locations in the US where Amazon has a presence will be considered.

Basic Qualifications

  • 3+ years’ experience in online content creation, IX/UX, web design, or front-end web development.
  • 3+ years actively working with HTML.
  • Experience in XML and structured authoring (in preparation for a shift to XML authoring).
  • Demonstrable success managing multiple priorities and directional changes in a deadline-driven environment.
  • Exceptionally high standards and attention to detail.
  • Portfolio of web content.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Understanding of information design principles.
  • Experience working in a CMS platform.
  • Experience in content testing, A/B testing, or online marketing campaigns.
  • Experience measuring SEO performance and optimizing content to increase organic traffic.
