Job description
Our leading financial client in Montreal is looking for a superstar Senior UX Content Designer to join their team. This is not a siloed copywriting or marketing role; we are looking for a product designer who is content-focused.
In this role, you will be embedded within two cross-functional quads (PDA and Credit), partnering directly with Interaction Designers, Product Owners, Developers, BAs, and Legal teams. You will shape the conversations we have with millions of users, designing end-to-end user journeys from acquisition to onboarding. Because your core management team is based outside of Montreal, you must possess the professional maturity to handle ambiguity, work autonomously, and act as a fierce champion for UX content standards locally.
What You’ll Do
- UX Writing & Product Environment Design
- Design Content Experiences: Co-create intuitive user flows, wireframes, and documentation alongside two Interaction Designers.
- Craft Microcopy: Write clear, client-focused interface copy (including microcopy, labels, error states, explanatory text, and accessibility alt-text) that lives natively within a complex digital product environment.
- Full-Lifecycle Journeys: Own the end-to-end content experience from top-of-funnel user acquisition through to digital onboarding.
- Ad-Hoc Adaptability: Comfortably pivot and make fast, ad-hoc content updates based on real-time project needs.
- Bilingualism & Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Dual-Language Content: Manage and design content natively in both English and French to support our diverse client base.
- Translation Support: Actively handle and support content translations to ensure message consistency across both languages.
- Stakeholder Navigation: Partner closely with Product Owners, Business Analysts, Developers, and Legal/Regulatory teams to ensure digital conversations are compliant, transparent, and technically viable.
- Autonomous Execution: Work efficiently and independently without hand-holding, driving alignment across local squads despite having remote management.
- Strategy, Governance & Research
- Advocate for Content: Articulate the strategic rationale behind your design decisions, moving Content Design from a reactive service to a formal, mature practice.
- Informed Design: Collaborate with Design Researchers, Testing Leads, and Data Analysts to run usability tests, A/B tests, and comprehension metrics.
- Inclusive Design: Embed Accessibility (AODA/WCAG 2.1/2.2) and Inclusive Design principles into the fabric of all content creations.
What You'll Bring
- Experience: 5–10 years of professional experience as a UX Content Designer, UX Writer, or Content-focused Product Designer within a dedicated digital product team.
- Language: True professional fluency/bilingualism in both English and French (written and verbal), with the ability to perform translations.
- Portfolio: A strong portfolio demonstrating your thought process, end-to-end UX artifacts, interaction flows, documentation, and conversational design. (Note: Portfolio pieces do not inherently need to be bilingual, but dual-language examples are a plus).
- Enterprise Savvy: Proven comfort navigating ambiguity within large, complex enterprise environments.
- Collaboration Muscle: Extensive experience working in agile squad/quad environments closely tied to UI and Interaction Designers.
- Experience working within the Financial Services or Fintech sectors (specifically within Credit or Digital Acquisition domains).
- Deep working knowledge of modern digital accessibility standards (WCAG 2.1/2.2).
- Experience using and contributing to centralized Design Systems.

The target hiring compensation range for this role is C$50 to C$54 hr. Compensation is based on several factors including, but not limited to education, relevant work experience, relevant certifications, and location.
