Job description
The Technical Publications, Technical Writer is responsible to work with Evenflo development teams and to produce all product labeling, regulated warning labels and instructions for various juvenile products, through both text and illustrations. Work collaboratively with the Product Marketing team, Engineering, Quality, and the Technical Documentation groups to ensure comprehensive product knowledge and consumer behavior, as well as compliance with internal and external regulations & requirements. The Writer should focus on ways to make instructions clear and consumer-friendly, balanced with the requirements for Compliance and Regulations.
Examples of Typical Activities
- Receive job requests from Technical Writing Manager.
- Balance approximately 8-12 projects at any given time.
- Review and approval of printer proofs
- Write and illustrate assembly, operation and other types of instructions
- Produce Warning labels that are correctly sized type-set to pass standard compliance testing.
- Provide input in regard to compliance or balance different requirements of technical content.
- Support communication with outside suppliers on overflow projects.
Required Experience
BA degree required in Technical Writing or English; a minimum of five years of technical writing and illustrating experience.
