Role Description:
We are recruiting a Content Strategist who owns the words: every post, every thread, every take that goes out under the Optima name:
- Write and ship content across the founder's social channels — LinkedIn, Twitter/X — with genuine ownership over voice, timing, and quality
- Read the room in real time. Know when to post, when to hold, when a trend is worth entering and when it's a trap
- Go beyond reactive content: develop proprietary angles from secondary research, industry data, and market observations that give Optima something to say that nobody else is saying
- Own the feedback loop — track what lands, understand why, and let that change what you make next
- Drive organic PR — place stories, build journalist relationships, get Optima into conversations that matter without defaulting to an agency
- Stay genuinely current: follow the accounts, read the research, watch the formats. The best in this role aren't waiting to be briefed on what's changed, they already know
Who This Is For:
- You've built or managed a high-quality content presence before — for a founder, a brand, or yourself — and you have the work to show it
- You can write with an edge. Provocative when the moment calls for it, polished enough that it never looks like a mistake. The restraint is part of the skill
- You can write across registers: a take that cuts, a thread that teaches, a one-liner that travels. The quality holds across all of them
- You're comfortable doing the research. Finding the non-obvious stat, reading the primary source, building the insight that earns the share — that's part of the job, not a bonus
- You understand how media works and have at least the start of a journalist or editor network, or know how to build one
- Outcomes (driven by taste and agency) matter more than pedigree
- Or something untraditional that trumps all of the above
What This Isn't:
- Not a social media manager who schedules posts and tracks follower counts
- Not a brand-safe content factory — playing it safe isn't the brief; knowing where safe ends and sloppy begins is
- Not a content agency lead — the writing lives with you, not a team you coordinate
- Not a PR executive who pitches press releases — the coverage you drive will come from real relationships and genuinely interesting material
