On behalf of our Management of Change client, Procom is searching for a Technical Writer II for a role through December 31, 2026. This position is a hybrid position with 2 days onsite at our client’s Houston office.
Technical Writer II - Job Description:
We are seeking a Technical Writer II to support documentation, communication, and change management initiatives within a dynamic operational environment. This role is responsible for developing, maintaining, and enhancing technical documentation and communication materials that help employees understand processes, systems, and organizational changes.
Technical Writer II - Responsibilities:
- Create, edit, and maintain technical documentation, including user guides, process documentation, standard operating procedures, training materials, and knowledge base content.
- Collaborate with engineers, project teams, business stakeholders, and subject matter experts to gather, validate, and document technical information.
- Translate complex technical concepts into clear, concise, and audience-appropriate content.
- Ensure all documentation meets quality standards for accuracy, consistency, usability, and compliance with established style guidelines.
- Organize and structure documentation to improve accessibility, navigation, and user experience.
- Update existing documentation based on process changes, system enhancements, user feedback, and project requirements.
- Develop, manage, and distribute monthly organizational newsletters and internal communications.
- Support change management initiatives by creating communication materials and documentation that facilitate user adoption and understanding.
- Manage multiple projects and documentation priorities while meeting established deadlines.
Technical Writer II - Mandatory Skills:
- Excellent written, editing, proofreading, and verbal communication skills.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to simplify complex technical information.
- Experience creating documentation for technical, operational, or business processes.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, Adobe Acrobat, and other documentation tools.
- Familiarity with content management systems, document repositories, and version control practices.
- Ability to work independently and collaborate effectively within cross-functional teams.
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment with changing priorities.
Technical Writer II – Nice-to-Have Skills:
- Project management experience.
- Experience supporting change management, process improvement, or operational initiatives.
- Knowledge of engineering, utility, energy, industrial, technology, or related technical environments.
Technical Writer II – Assignment Length:
This is a contract position through December 31, 2026.

Houston, Texas, United States. This is a hybrid role with 2 days in the office and the opportunity for remote work on Fridays.
