Job description
As a technical writer within the Informatics division at Revvity Signals, you will plan the documentation strategy, create technical content, and produce professional guides and online help.
You will work independently with minimal supervision as part of a geographically distributed team.
Qualifications:
- Producing high-quality, clear, accurate, and complete documentation within established deadlines.
- Organizing and prioritizing tasks and have exceptional analytical skills.
- Your ability to organize your time and see projects through to completion with minimal supervision is extremely important.
- Managing multiple projects and deliverables.
- Working in an agile development environment and gathering information for a writing assignment from a variety of sources, including development, QA, UX, and product management.
- Researching and learning new technologies in Technical Communications.
- Minimum Bachelor degree in scientific/engineering or related discipline
- 5-7 years of technical writing experience
- Working experience in scientific or engineering discipline
- Excellent written and verbal English communication skills
- Experience in creating various formats of documentation software, or other products, for a variety of audiences (end users, system administrators, IT managers)
- Knowledge of content management authoring/publishing tools, in particular MadCap Flare
- Sound knowledge of XML and HTML and various help formats
- Ability to create high quality graphics using tools, such as Microsoft Visio.
- Knowledge of video production techniques and experience with tools such as Camtasia or MadCap Mimic.
- Familiarity with Agile/Scrum
- Excellent work ethic and desire to learn and take on new challenges
- Experience with usability and user experience practices
- Ability to communicate clearly with all project stakeholders in distributed locations
- Awareness of technical communication trends
- Provides recommendations to continuously improve technical writing in the organization
