Technical Writer

Location: Scottsdale, Arizona / On-site (4 days a week)

Pay Rate: $25 USD/hour

About the Role

We're looking for a Technical Writer who uses AI beyond everyday tasks — someone who actively looks for ways to integrate AI tools efficiently into documentation workflows. You'll work exclusively with ServiceNow as your source for knowledge articles, tickets, and process logs, and you'll use Microsoft Copilot to structure, refine, and analyze that content into clear, useful documentation. You'll also run basic data analytics on that documentation — spotting gaps, redundancies, or recurring themes.

New graduates are welcome — especially if you've used these exact tools or similar ones in bachelor's or master's projects, capstones, or research.

What You'll Do

• Pull source documentation directly from ServiceNow (knowledge bases, KB articles, incident templates, SOPs)
• Use Microsoft Copilot to restructure, consolidate, and rewrite content into user-friendly guides
• Design and iterate prompts for different documentation types (troubleshooting, onboarding, workflows)
• Run lightweight analytics on documentation health – completeness, freshness, duplication
• Collaborate with IT teams to validate Copilot-assisted content

What Makes You a Great Fit

Must-Haves (non-negotiable):

• You have hands-on experience with ServiceNow (or an equivalent ITSM platform — but we use ServiceNow)
• You have hands-on experience with Microsoft Copilot to summarize, restructure, or analyze technical content
• You can design prompts that produce accurate, verifiable documentation — not generic text
• You're comfortable with basic data analytics — e.g., spotting which articles are outdated or what issues appear most frequently
• You're a recent graduate or early-career professional with projects involving AI + documentation

Great to Have (but not required):

• Master's or bachelor's project involving AI-assisted documentation or knowledge systems
• Familiarity with Power BI, Excel analytics, or basic reporting from ServiceNow
• Experience with ITIL, KCS, or structured documentation frameworks
• Exposure to GitHub, Markdown, or Confluence
