Job Title: Web Content Strategist

Department: Consumer Marketing

Reports to: eCommerce Manager

Hours Available: M-F 8:30am-5:30pm EST (1-hour lunch break)

FLSA Class: Non-Exempt

Summary: The Web Content Strategist will be responsible for creating and optimizing web content to enhance SEO performance. This role will involve crafting compelling copy for various platforms including blogs, product descriptions, technical content, and landing pages. The Web Content Strategist will play a vital role in driving organic traffic to our website by staying updated on SEO best practices and leading our SEO content strategy.

Essential Functions (include But Not Limited To)

  • Develop and implement an SEO-driven content strategy to increase organic traffic and improve search engine rankings.
  • Create high-quality, engaging content for various web platforms including blogs, product descriptions, and landing pages.
  • Optimize web content for SEO by conducting keyword research, analyzing search intent, and integrating relevant keywords seamlessly into the copy.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including creative, Brand marketing and development to ensure content aligns with brand voice, messaging, and objectives.
  • Monitor and analyze website performance metrics, SEO rankings, and user engagement to identify areas for improvement and opportunities for optimization.
  • Stay updated on industry trends, algorithm changes, and SEO best practices to ensure content remains relevant and competitive.
  • Conduct regular content audits to assess effectiveness, relevance, and alignment with SEO goals.
  • Provide guidance and training to team members on SEO principles, content optimization techniques, and best practices.
  • Stay informed about competitor strategies and industry developments to inform content strategy decisions.
  • Collaborate with external partners such as agencies or freelancers as needed to support content creation and optimization efforts.

Qualifications/Requirements

  • Must be 18 years of age or older.
  • HS Diploma or GED
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States and have IDs needed to verify.
  • English proficient (reading, writing, speaking, comprehension)
  • Computer savvy; proficient with Microsoft Office

Sensory Requirements: Should have working use of hearing and vision with or without the use of corrective lenses/hearing aids to be able to read paperwork, work on a computer screen for an extended period of time, and frequently speak on the phone.

Education/Experience/License Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in English, marketing, business, or related field.
  • General understanding of branding, SEO, and copywriting.
  • Solid analytical skills and the ability to use data to drive decision-making.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Creative problem-solving skills and the ability to think outside the box to achieve results.
  • Clear, engaging writing style with ability to communicate technical concepts to a variety of audiences.
  • Strong ideation skills and a willingness to experiment.
  • Obsessive attention to detail
  • Collaborative and energetic personality
  • Confidence interacting with cross-functional teams of all levels.
  • Prior experience working in a metrics-driven marketing environment, and comfort with analytics that provide insight and accountability to content preferred.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and deliver high quality materials on budget and deadline.

Language Skills: English proficiency required (reading, writing, speaking, comprehension), strong diction, grammar, and syntax. Knowledge of an additional language(s) is a plus!

Mathematical Skills: Basic arithmetic and algebra

Reasoning Ability: Ability to effectively prioritize, ability to adapt to quick changes, strong attention to detail and high accuracy. Must be able to make rational and logical decisions.

Work Environment: Indoor office environment most times. Fast paced, sometimes stressful work environment. Must be able to adapt to quick changes. Must work well on-own and in teams. Must also be comfortable in large social settings and public speaking.
