We’re looking for a creative partner to join the PG Marketeers. As a Proposal & Content Strategist, you’ll be responsible for effectively communicating in writing to our customers what problems we solve for them, and why Populus Group would be a great partner. Your primary responsibility will be to support the PG sales cycle including creating and maintaining RFI/RFP responses, managing the RFx lifecycle and creating content assets and presentations to support the sales cycle with new and existing customers.

You’ll partner with Business Development and BD Support to strategize our approach to each opportunity, including what existing and new content will help move deals through the process. You must have a proven track record of combining compelling storytelling with business acumen while applying brand voice. The ability to see through the eyes of various customers will make you successful in this role.

Responsibilities

Primary – Proposal Management

  • Create and facilitate process to manage proposal deadlines by establishing priorities for information gathering, writing, and approval.
  • Lead the process of determining whether each proposal opportunity fits our ideal customer profile.
  • Effectively communicate in writing via RFI/RFP responses to existing and potential customers how we will solve their business problems in a simple, engaging manner
  • Manages novel RFx and content delivery & trend tracker – tracking all content deliverables, timelines, and outcomes.
  • Provides insights and trend analysis to help drive & impact strategy discussions.
  • Determine and maintain a platform for storing content and materials.
  • Thorough understanding and ability to apply Populus Group messaging strategy including value differentiation, sales model, and PG brand voice.
  • Actively participates in refreshing our differentiation and messaging strategy.
  • Manage sales presentation process including slide deck creation, maintenance of slide library, and other presentation content assets.
  • Assist in the development of emerging services/solution including development and execution of related go-to-market strategies.

Secondary - Content Strategy & Support

  • Involvement in the sales lifecycle to establish a content strategy to support our sales efforts.
  • Build relationships with business development, marketing, and product/service line owners to produce content to support the sales process.
  • Conduct semi-annual updates and maintenance of competitive research and analysis and share findings with internal stakeholders in addition to leveraging in our content assets.
  • Conduct semi-annual review and updates of all content assets including case studies, one-pagers, and sales presentations. Also create materials and make updates as needed.
  • Partner with fellow Marketeers and internal stakeholders to produce content for blog posts, marketing and sales assets, video scripts and thought leadership to be shared via multiple online and offline channels.
  • Vet all new certification requests, mitigating unnecessary expenditure and ensuring efficient and effective ROI.
  • Manages active minority and veteran certifications, ensuring renewals & new certification applications are processed on time.

Minimum Education and/or Experience:

3+ years of industry experience or 3+ years’ experience specific to content development & strategy

BA/BS degree or equivalent experience in journalism, communications, PR, marketing or related field nice to have, but not required.

Qualifications:

  • Ability to ideate, create, edit, and promote various types of content (written, graphics, videos, etc.)
  • Excellent communication, collaboration, and project management experience with strong attention to detail
  • Can work and thrive in a fast-paced, quickly changing work environment and can switch gears quickly and effectively.
  • A dual-minded approach: highly creative and excellent writing skills, and process-driven, relies on data to make decisions and can scale ideas and processes.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio, Teams, and Outlook)
  • Proficiency in content management platforms (HubSpot, Sitecore)
  • Experience with digital creative tools (Canva, Photoshop, InDesign, illustrator) a plus.
