Job description
Qualifications: Preferably Bachelors or Masters degree in Engineering, Computer Science, English, Journalism, Mass Communication and/or certification in technical writing 2-6 years work experience in technical writing or content writing for the tech industry or 2-6 years of work experience in the IT industry with a flair and aptitude for writing with some technical writing experience.
Responsibilities:
- Creating help and user manual documents for the product Bizom.
- Bizom is a supply chain automation solution used by over 2 lakhs users across India and overseas.
- The content should help make the product self-service with a great user experience and high user satisfaction. Not only should the content provide reactive support, it should provide proactive mechanisms as well to drive usage and become a part of the daily lives of users akin to WhatsApp or email.
- The content should be searchable and interlinked.
- Creating and maintaining user forums.
- Developing the content after gathering key business and user insights.
- Having a long-term vision for the content and strategy to create and maintain the same.
- Owning the process end-to-end.
- Collaborating with all teams in the organisation especially engineering, Product, marketing and customer success teams.
- Developing a governance policy for the content and maintaining a calendar for it.
- Taking care of the entire cycle from design, execution to implementation.
- Being entrepreneurial, independent and requiring negligible supervision.
- Organising, structuring and writing documents and articles related to the company's products and solutions.
- Detailing module-wise features, user manuals, and FAQs for customers and for internal L1, L2, L3 teams, etc.
- Organising and documenting monthly product and bug fix release notes.
- Updating API documentation.
Skills:
- Ability to understand a technology product inside out and develop strong functional understanding and an understanding of it’s features and the outcomes it helps achieve
- Knowledge of information architecture and flow for building knowledge management systems
- Ability to produce clear and concise content
- Exceptional writing, proofreading and editing skills
- Strong comprehension skills especially for business and technology
- Ability to collaborate with teams to gather information
- Ability to do user study to understand the target audience for the artifacts and documentation being created
- Experience in similar area and a thirst to create world-class self-service documentation is required.
- Understanding of Documentation Development Lifecycle (DDLC)
