Technical Content Strategist

We're hiring! Are you passionate about structured content, governance, and driving content strategy? Join our growing team as a Technical Content Strategist, where you'll champion content as a business asset, ensuring consistency, quality, and compliance across technical content. This role is part of a global, cross-functional engineering team and focuses on shaping and advocating DITA-specific content strategy.

Work location: Galway, Ireland (1x/month in the office).

Key responsibilities:

• Develop, maintain, and promote DITA content strategies, aligning with organizational goals through documentation, training, DITA authoring and CMS configurations.
• Conduct content audits and gap analysis, identifying opportunities for improvement and aligning with the DITA maturity model.
• Provide data-driven recommendations to enhance content quality and optimize performance.
• Establish and enforce content governance standards through organizational processes, using analytics tools to monitor content quality and consistency.
• Lead content and gap analysis for acquisition migrations to DITA, ensuring smooth transitions while educating teams on knowledge management tools and strategic benefits to drive organizational alignment.
• Represent organizational interests by influencing the DITA standard and specification as an active and voting member of relevant industry committees and through vendor roadmap reviews.
• Participate in live meetings and online reviews to identify and implement improvements and provide guidance to leadership teams in various business units.
• Partner with content users, engineering subject matter experts, vendors, and IT teams to enhance content strategy.

For this role, we value candidates who have:

• Proven expertise in DITA XML structured content as a Content Strategist, DITA Technical Writer, or similar role.
• Hands-on experience with DITA authoring, content management, and publishing systems (Component CMS, XML Authoring tools, Tridion Docs, Oxygen XML Author, Acrolinx, or similar environments).
• Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment while collaborating with cross-functional teams (technical writing, support, engineering).
• Strategic thinking and ability to influence without direct authority.
• Excellent communication skills—able to simplify complex technical information for diverse global audiences.
• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field (engineering, computer science, technical writing) or equivalent work experience.
